  1. Now that I think about it. It was a Don Youst video. I did used soap and hot water to wash off the residue. I have an Impala and a 442 soaking in Easy Off. Because of the clear coat and the paint getting torn off. I bought 6 cans each of Aluminum and Titanium metallizer from Hobby Lobby. When I found out that they were not making it anymore. They are great when using them for they were meant for. No more Metallizer for primer!! Thanks for all of your comments Mike
  2. Thank you for all the comments. I normally use Duplicolor Scratch Filler for 80% of my projects. I never had paint pulled off by the tape ever. It never occurred to me that it was the tape. I will try to dummy up the tape. I just wanted to try something new with the Aluminum Plate. I read somewhere that it was a good primer. Again, Thank You Mike
  3. I have been using Aluminum plate as primer for some projects. The masking tape {Tamiya} that I use is pulling the 3 coats of clear and 3 coats paint off the body but, does not pull off the Aluminum plate. I use 3600 hundred to sand the Aluminum plate. Is it possible that 3600 is too smooth for the paint to adhere to the Aluminum plate? Thanks Mike

  5. Stop buying. I am not cheap, but now that models have broken the $30.00 barrier that is too much for me to spend. Build what I have. Start photographing my cars and post them. Mike
  6. I use automotive products such as Turtle Wax rubbing compound, Meguiars' wax, polish and speed detailer. I also use them to detail my car. Good Luck Mike
  7. I use Pledge or Wicked Colors Clearcoat to improve the look of the glass. Mike

  9. I use liquid mask. It washes off with soap and water. Mike
  10. I do some detailing to the interior. The only cars that I go full out on the details are convertibles. Mike
  11. Mine is part carpet, cement, and a Gel-Pro kitchen mat. I also have a high-powered LED flashlight. The beam is so strong that it even reflets off of bare plastic and other things. I highly recommend it. I have not lost one part since I got it. Mike
  12. Mecum has 4,000 lots cosigned. January 4th-15th There is gonna be a lot to watch. I like the 1st day because they are mostly drivers and affordable Mike.
  13. I meant to say an accurate Eleanor kit. Then call it a Mustang Custom.
  14. Could they make a Mustang Custom with no reference to Eleanor?
  15. I agree. I only use the same brand.
  16. Sometimes he doesn't have some parts in stock, and he has to make them. Which takes a while. I have nothing but good things to say about him Mike
  17. Mecum has sold them a few times. They always say, "This car has been licensed" They have never said " Who licensed the Elanores" Mike
  18. Thank you so much. Do you think that the body stripes would work on the AMT 69 442? Maybe cut them into 2 or 3 parts to fit? Thanks Mike
  19. The box art on the new 442 shows all the decals. Are all those decals in the kit? 7 pages of reviews are way too much to go thru Thanks Mike
  20. Very well done My son is into Gundams and customizes them. Is yours wearing women's high heel shoes? LOL.
