Way too hot to build!
'08SEAL replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good thing about heat is that it dries paint fast. -
Hey, I bought this kit at a Hobby Lobby. It was 20 bucks for glue, tamiya sandbag kit, and this kit thanks to a coupon. This kit is great except for a few minor tics. The cab and front fenders have mold lines that need to be sanded and the cab is molded incorrectly. Also, the instructions don't say what color to paint it, so I painted the engine red... This is the way I want to build it. Earlier today I found a red that I had and used for the engine, I thought it looked like the red from Texaco so I used it. It turned out great on the fenders I need another can. Here are the fenders painted red with no clear. I need to paint white on the body and cab then I will paint red for the front fenders. I also painted the steel wheels red from the fenders. The wheels. The engine and the light for the roof.

I build outside in my dads shed,(keep in mind im 12 and dont get my own shed) and the shed isnt air-conditioned. I go out there for 5 minutes and in this New Mexico heat, I'm sweating by the gallons! I will have to build when it gets dark, or when its raining or something. So my builds will be slow. I have about 5 hours of building time a day if I do that. I cant air condition the shed so its just way too hot. So do many of you guys take "SUmmer Vacations" and wait to build during winter?

I could only fit 3 in a row down the side of the bed lenghwise
-
11:33 here. I was um well sleeping. (I'm twelve wand it's summer vacation) zzzzzzzzz
-
Lengthwise on the bed it takes 3 or 4 to line up and 3 for the width. It will take 4 to stack to the top of the bed

what's the line up? -
I think the sandbags are a little big compared to the kind I see at the gun range. 3 or 4 line up the bed of the truck. How long was the bed in real life?
-
The bag packag comes with 48 bags with 12 for the top. 36 flat for building and 12 round tops for the top of the stack. So maybe 10 bags?

I just bought the 1950 Chevrolet Texaco 3100 Pickup Truck and need a little help. I bought some Tamiya 1/35 scale sandbags for the bed of it and I have 2 questions. How many full sandbags could a truck like this hold, and how many should I put iin there? I was thinking putting like 5 or 6 kinda thrown in there but I'm not to sure.

Revells 50 Ford Truck..quickie Review
'08SEAL replied to Gray Smith's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Casey I have built this kit twice and it has different tires for the steel wheels then the custom. The steel wheel tires have white wall inserts and dog dish hubs one that covers all the wheel and one hat covers the lugs. -
The Scorpions are on tour this year, for the last time. I had the privilege of being able to go, here in Albuquerque. They are continuing to make music and record CD's but will no longer go on tour. Many of you guys grew up with the scorpions. And they just hit Albuquerque last night. Ifyou want to go and get Rocked Like A Hurricane, buy some tickets and go. Release the 80's that has built up! P.S. Mötley Crüe and KISS (yes them) are performing later this summer!

Where does your nostalgia lie?
'08SEAL replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As being a 12 year old, I think,IMO, the good ol' days were 50's and 60's. The cars were more muscle than economic. I always thought the cars were better then. But I never lived then so, I guess it's just me. -
Heres a wee bit of an update. I was thinking about doing something like this for the interior but I do realize that the shifter has to be over the tranny, but, I do have friends that race on dirt tracks, and I can try to make a shift rod to connect the shifter and tranny. And P.S. there isnt going to be a passenger seat. Here are the gauges, I was going for an aluminum look. Here is the Mustang steering wheel on the 32 mount. And the engine, I found an air cleaner, then lost the air mount that it was supposed to be glued to. I found a spare and used that. I do have a few questions, 1.) I cant decide on a color. I was thinking silver, but I'm not sure. Any Ideas? 2.) How would I incorporate lights into this thing?
