  5. well, us modelers ARE pack rats...i save the 'stuff' from sanding the treads of tires, what better thing to use than rubber!!

  7. so, i take it that your're coming down?? cool...i've been absent from the last 4 or 5, to much SV650!! lol but, i DO have a new build...the last one i finished was in 05!! see ya there!!
  8. i've had good luck with Pactra Racing Finishes Pearl White...excellent coverage[over a white base]i think it looks better than the Tamiya white pearl or pearl clearcote... i'm just sayin...
  9. i did one of those... i left the top of the windsheild 'molding' so it had a full frame... then, when polishing the paint, snagged a corner of the frame, DOH!!!...so, lemmonade from lemons, just re-did the 'glass'... i used a dash from a snap Prowler, added another gage[5 total] to balance the dash out...
  10. boy or girl doesen't really matter...a nice normal baby, 2 eyes, 2 ears, etc... that ALSO sleeps allnite at TWO WEEKS!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA congrats...
  11. Black Helicopters........
  12. actually, one of his bodys is/has gotten me back building after about a 5 year layoff...i've had this body for a while, got it in Toledo a hunnert years ago and just sat on the bench..painted a couple colors by this pic..i was messin with the sepia on the camera...so, just started a parts pac Caddy, one thing led to another, and now it's about 1-2 hrs worth of work to be done...anyway... oh yeah, it's in on the workbench as 25/34...
  13. ya need to use a white primer instead of the grey the yellow will cover better with less paint.. and yeah, a little heavy as it's 'pulling away' from high spots/seams
  14. REAL!! doh, wrong thread again!! lol

  16. nah, the white glue will/should dry clear....after awhile
  17. i had a post all set, then i started thinking about the eyelid deal... laughing WITH you....
  18. i for one, LIKE the contests, as time rolls, having 2-3 contests per issue is fine with me... i want to see what other people are building... i asked Jim about the 'doubles' thing once... with 1000's of pics from hundreds of shows, you're gonna have some more than once!! show travellers and all...
  19. nice Stude!!! nice chop!! great stance and color combo... i'm working on a Flintstone 'Bonneville Coupe' Stude, i really like the '53's...
  20. and it's been my experience that the sandable primers allow you to use hotter[read lacquers]as they are a lacquer base... the enamel based primers may not hold up to lacquer... me, myself...i like plasticote T235/236/237/238[grey, black, red, white]....
  21. you better go into this with a budget...lolol and, in the first 1/2 hour, well, so much for the budget!!! lol AND some of the vendors take plastic!!! it's like Vegas and a credit card!! and, like previous posts, if you don't find something that your're looking for, you ain't looking hard enough!!! i predict that you'll spend 3/4 of your time in the vendors area, there's THAT much to see!!
  22. hmmm..can ya work the front wing in also?? now that would be different... not that this isn't...lol
