  1. I'd go with some clear 5-minute epoxy for everything, applied with a toothpick.
  2. Here's something a little bit different! But is it real... or model? The answer: MODEL!
  3. Slow down, man! There's only so many pages in the magazine!!!
  4. Final vote: 23 REAL, 27 MODEL. (funny how it always winds up being right around 50 votes every week)... But you guys are WRONG! It's REAL! Next ROM coming Monday...
  5. Very nice attention to detail. I love the throttle return spring!
  6. Generally, we try to stay away from too much of that sort of lingo around here, but if you ever come across a TLA (three letter acronym) that you can't figure out, FYI, just go to google and do a search for "internet acronyms." TTFN...
  7. They don't call him "Mr. Obsessive" for nothing!
  8. No way!!! Hey, I may be from Chicago, the "Corruption Capitol" of the USA... but ROM is run legitimately!
  9. Thanks for the intro and the background information on yourself. Now please do one more thing and add your name (first and last) to your signature line. It's a rule here, and a subject that has come up again lately.
  10. OK, guys... by now I'm pretty sure everyone has seen this thread and has heard about Kevin's history of bad trading, as Kevin himself has admitted. No real point in continuing to state the obvious. He needs to contact each and every person who he owes, or respond to those people who have contacted him... but that should all be done privately between Kevin and whoever he has unfinished business with. There's no point in continuing this thread. Nothing positive will be accomplished here by adding more comments on the situation. Kevin... get with your trade partners and make things right to the best of your ability. Via PM or personal emails. That said, I'll leave this up as a heads-up to whoever wants to read it, but no more additional public comments on the subject.
  11. Check the "New Camaro Sighting" post in the General section...
  12. All I can find on ebay are either 1/18 or 1/32...
  13. I think you did a great job! You should be proud!
  14. Has there ever been a 1/24 or 1/25 scale kit of an Airflow? Either plastic or resin? Anything???
  15. There haven't been any "Pontiacs", "Chevies", "Dodges", "Fords," etc. in NASCAR for a long time. The whole idea of attaching a manufacturer's name to any NASCAR racer is absolutely pointless. I wonder why they still bother, it means nothing at all. And BTW, the actual model in this post looks fantastic, whatever it is!
  16. You're going to have to be way more specific than that! "Scratchbuilding" covers just about anything... from scratchbuilding roll cages and frames with brass or styrene tubing or rods , to custom bodywork using sheet styrene or sheet brass, or turning custom pieces on a lathe from aluminum, to building entire models "from scratch" out of brass, styrene, aluminum, etc. The possibilities are endless, and the materials and techniques are also endless. Also, the materials used would dictate what method you'd need to put the pieces together (glue, epoxy, soldering, etc.) Working with different materials requires different techniques and methods. Unless we have a better idea of what you want to do, we can't tell you how to do it, or what materials you'll need.
  17. Just out of curiosity, I tried the link that Bob provided in his post. The site worked perfectly...
  18. Q: If a blond and a brunette jump off a cliff at the same time, who hits the ground first? A: The brunette, because the blond had to stop and ask for directions... The guy behind the counter at the take-out pizza place asked the blond customer if she would like her pizza cut into six pieces or twelve. "Six please," she replied. "I could never eat twelve pieces!" A guy hired a blonde to paint his living room. When he walked into the room, he was surprised to find the blond wearing both a denim jacket and a fur coat over that. Puzzled, the guy asked the blond, "Why are you dressed like that?" The blond picked up the paint can and pointed to the directions. "See," she said, "it says right here... for best results put on two coats!"
  19. A turtle is walking down the street when suddenly two snails approach from behind. "This is a stick-up," announces one of the snails, and they proceed to rob the poor turtle. Later, the turtle calls the police to report the robbery. "Two snails snuck up behind me and robbed me!" the turtle exclaimed. The police officer asks the turtle if he can provide a description of the two snails, what they were wearing, etc. "I don't think I can," the turtle replied. "Everything happened so fast!"
  20. Two blond roommates are coming home after a night of drinking and partying. One of the blonds says to the other, "I don't feel so good", and passes out on the couch. Next morning the other blond comes into the living room and sees her roommate still laying on the couch in the same position she was last night. The first blond starts to panic, and calls 911. "Hello, 911? I think my friend is dead! She's just laying on the couch and hasn't moved since last night!" The 911 operator answers, "Now, don't panic, ma'am. The first thing we have to do is to make sure she's really dead." The operator hears the blond put down the phone, then there are several seconds of silence, followed by a gunshot. "Ok," says the blond as she returns to the phone. ""What's next?"
  21. Let's see how you do on this one. Real or model? The answer: REAL!
  22. That engine looks so good, I wouldn't temp fate by messing around and trying to remove whatever it is that shouldn't be there. Paint it flat black and ignore it. As said, once the model is finished and the engine is in place, you'll never notice that anything isn't as it should be. Great work so far...
  23. In the original post, if you click on the link, you come to a page where there's a video of the Citroen being built. The "soundtrack" on the video is "Cry Baby" by Janis Joplin. So since that song has absolutely nothing to do with the car in the video, I asked... what's the connection???
  24. Now this is what modeling is all about. Fantastic work. Anyone who can scratchbuild at this level gets an A+ from me. This would make a very nice magazine feature... (hint hint)...
