  1. Now that's just about as neat and clean as a lowrider can get! Very nice work!!!
  2. Looks sort of like a dustbuster...

Darin and Mark...and anyone else...I'll meet you in Rants and Raves! Seriously, though...one of the things that drew me here and caused me to sign on is the fact that we DO have a dedicated area here to mix it up a bit. I think that's a great idea, and I've already gotten into a couple of interesting discussions...right, Darin? There are some very opinionated, very passionate yet also very well-spoken and thoughtful people here, and I enjoy the opportunity to talk to them here.

For the record, I agree with you! Our country is in SERIOUS trouble in many areas, and it'd entirely appropriate to discuss those issues. Heck, get me started on all that's wrong or screwed up in this country and I can go for HOURS. But it's best to keep our political views in the appropriate forum, and that's "Rants and Raves". Good choice to change your avatar. It doesn't mean you're any less passionate in your views, just that you've agreed to play by the rules here...as we all have. BTW...I'd be very interested to hear what you have to say, if you want to post in the Rants and Raves section. Nobody loves a good political debate more than I do! 8)

If you smoke, and you're invited to join some people at their house for a get-together, and they don't allow smoking in their house, would you refrain from smoking because you're a guest in their house and you're expected to obey their rules? Or do you begin a loud discussion on how you have a right to smoke wherever you want to? Same idea here. We're all guests on this forum. None of us has a "right" to be here and say whatever we want...this is a private enterprise, not a public square. Big difference. I have a lot of things I'd protest too, but there are more appropriate outlets for our political voices to be heard.
  7. I collect speeding tickets...
  8. I know what you mean, Pat. I really wish I still had all the models I built in the past, but unfortunately they're all long gone... victims of my mom's long ago basement cleaning.
  9. So it's that easy? You just pay them to become a reseller?
  10. I know that Dave the "Model King" issues re-releases of old kits and sells them under the "Model King" name, but I've never understood the details of the relationship between Model King and the kit manufacturers. Why did AMT and others let their old kits be issued under another name? Why don't they simply reissue them themselves? Who actually manufactures these kits, and where did they get the tooling from? Are Model King kits made using the actual old company tooling, or are they "copies" of the original kits? I think it's great that these old kits are seeing the light of day again, but I wonder how it all came about. Can anyone provide a clear explanation? :?
  11. Too cool! Great color too. BTW...it's weird for me when someone posts one of their "early" builds...all the way back from 2003... when I realize that my early builds were done in the 60s!
  12. Hey Jaffa...some pretty wild ideas there! Have you built a model of one of your designs?
  13. You can always "say" it's under the seat
  14. No battery in the Deuce or T kits...
  15. Just curious as to your thoughts on this one... From my experience, Pocher kits, while incredible enough OOB, need quite a bit of extra work to make a truly accurate model. Knowing your usual attention to accuracy and detail, why set "rules" for yourself regarding how you're going to build the kit? Are you going to enter it in a contest when you're done?
  16. Nah...I like it just fine. Just couldn't help but notice, since the wheels have a definite directional pattern to them. But the model is very cool!
  17. BTW...here's an idea I had for the 69...kinda "Shelby-ish" in the taillights, but with a much larger rear window (and no trunk-it would have been a hatchback). Because your design is long and sleek (accomplished by filling in the coves and the quarter windows, for instance), I think full-width taillights would be right at home on your "1970".
  18. Interesting ideas, Mike...but like Jairus, I think Mustang styling peaked in 1969. Moving the headlights inboard, like they did on the 70 version, never did much for me. It always struck me as king of "squinty-eyed", for some reason. But hey...that's just my opinion, nothing more. I think it's great to have another "stylist" hanging around here!
  19. Looks like the last time that guy had his tires rotated, the shop put them on wrong... the front wheel is going in one direction, and the back wheel in the other...
  20. Dirty up those spotless whitewalls a little!
  21. I think it makes you look very presidential...
  22. Thanks for all your help, guys...you're making this project a lot easier! Steve, I bought the book you recommended today. Got a used one (says it's "like new") on amazon for $8! I should be getting it in a few days. Meanwhile I'll be scoping out Hobby Lobby's website for that 40% off coupon they put up every so often...then it's time to snag another Big T and get to work! And the best part is...I don't have to worry about a perfect paint job!!!
