  1. What year???
  2. Check out the newest modeling mag on the newsstand...
  3. Brush, spray can or airbrush are all perfectly good ways to paint an interior. The trick is to use the right color and the right gloss level to replicate the real thing in scale. For instance...cloth seats would be recreated with a flat finish. Leather or vinyl seats usually have some shine to them, so a semi-gloss finish would be more realistic. If you're doing a replica stock, do a google search for reference photos of the real thing, and you'll get a good idea of appropriate colors to use on your interiors. If your model is a custom or street rod, anything goes...just as it would in real life. The choice in that case is totally up to you!
  4. A few variations... Formula: TA (without the side scoop on the front fender):
  5. One more...
  6. It was the combination of writing style and political posts...
  7. I run a Mac AND a PC and the image is missing in both cases...I have the "missing image" icon and the words "Model Cars Magazine Forum Forum Index" (yep... forum x 2!)
  8. I remember building that one many, many years ago. I probably DID pay 49 cents for it when I bought it!
  9. Here's my comment: With all the great cars out there that have never been offered in kit form, they give us this??? :?
  10. With the proportions of a phone booth on wheels, cornering in that coupe must have been fun!
  11. I don't buy resin bodies, so I wasn't sure what the point of this post was supposed to be...but now I get it. Kind of silly, eh?
  12. Are the tires O-rings?
  13. Wow! Box stock doesn't get any better than that :!:
  14. Okeefenokee!!!
  15. Well, you can't argue with First Place! Congratulations!
  16. Nice job...but an odd body choice for a hot rod. Why carry around the weight of a back seat and 2 extra doors? Unless this is the only car our fictitious hot rodder had available...
  17. The "busy" background actually takes away from the model. After all, your purpose is to show us the model...not the background it's sitting on (unless the model is in a diorama setting). You're much better off shooting your model on a simple, clean background...a light one for dark colored models and a dark one for light colored models.
  18. I wonder if there were variances among the cars. This photo shows a slightly different seat color: And the photos here seem to show a darker seat insert, possibly a different material, too: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/turbine-photos.html
  19. Pretty cool! Those old pages sure bring back memories.
  20. There is a "Resin" forum here, but it occurred to me that a more all-encompassing "Aftermarket" forum might be a better option. It would include resin, obviously, but also all the OTHER aftermarket items...PE, decals, prewired distributors and such, custom wheels, etc. What do you think :?:
  21. Ooops...I must have missed that part of the post. As Emily Litella would say..."never mind!" BTW...when this kit was made, somebody forgot their dictionary. It's "Desperado"...
  22. Nice work...very meticulously detailed. Looks like it's all freehand...no circle/ellipse templates? Impressive!
  23. How about a little chrome foil on the window trim and door handles??? It would add a nice touch of realism.
  24. I haven't slogged through so much BS in one place in quite a while...this thread is very entertaining!
