  1. I like natural bristles brushes... sable and squirrel work well for me. I find synthetic brushes too "hard" and they just don't have the same "feel" that natural brushes do. But I admit that's probably just personal preference.
  2. Nicely done! Considering the small scale, the engine detail looks quite good.
  3. Does anyone else think the windshield is too tall?
  4. Looks like this one was too tough! The car is a 1922 Gray-Dort "B" Special. http://comet166.deviantart.com/art/1922-Gray-Dort-quot-B-quot-Special-177001619 Who got it right: otherunicorn Chillyb1 Badluck 13
  5. Did you know that "mano a mano" literally translates as "hand to hand?" Not "man to man." Your free Español 101 lesson for the day...
  6. A couple of extra decals on the sheet wouldn't cost them a thing. Seems like it would be a "common courtesy" to their customers.
  7. Yeah, but can he cook?
  8. Wow! I really, really like this. Spectacular!
  9. Were those all built for clients? Or for yourself? Because that is a lot of Porsches for just one guy!
  10. But that's not a famous Harry...
  11. It's not the woodworking that might be the problem, but the actual details of construction, like do I build the doors first and then fit the body to them, or do I build the body first and fit the doors to the opening? Should I attach the doors to the hinge post and then mount the whole thing as one assembly, or should I install the hinge posts first and then add the doors to the otherwise finished body? That sort of stuff. I've been going over a building sequence in my head, but I keep changing my mental to-do list!
  12. Beautiful model, Ray. The paint looks absolutely flawless. Just one tip for you: I think you're posting images directly from your computer? If so, this site won't let you do that for long... your allotted image storage space here is very limited. You need to get a photo hosting account (if you don't already have one), load up your images over there on their servers, then just post the IMG tag (the link to the image) here in your posts. That way all of your photos are taking up space over on the photo hosting site's server, not this one, and you're just posting the link to the photo here, not the actual photo (although we still see the photo here in your posts). If you already have a photo hosting account and you know all this already... like Emily Litella always said... never mind...
  13. Depends on how successful (or not) I am with the 1/16 version...
  14. At the moment, a 1/16 scale 1937 RR Phantom III that I will be converting to a woody. My original plan was to use the Pocher "Star of India" kit for this, but I decided to "practice" by building a smaller-scale version first and working out the construction details... then maybe I'll do the 1/8 scale version.
  15. Yes, the hood contours don't exactly match up to the radiator shell. That's just another "Pocherism." I just lived with it. It wasn't too bad,
  16. Very nice and clean all around. I like the way you inset the tach and roll cage bars into the dash. Nice touch. But, um... what exactly would hold the hood shut?
  17. Point taken...
  18. Ok, not every Hudson PU. But one can be easily scratchbuilt using a currently available kit. And BTW... I second a Tucker kit. A kit with only one version is a sales loser? Silhouette... Mysterion... Tijuana Taxi... Boothill Express... L'il Coffin... Dragula... Munster's Coach... Raider's Coach... Monkeemobile... Batmobile... Green Hornet Imperial... the list goes on and on and on... Obviously a "one version only" kit has been done–many times.
  19. To add to my point... The whole point of professional sports (aside from the entertainment aspect) is that people compete in order to determine a winner. Baseball, football, basketball, tennis, golf, hockey, soccer, polo, track, racing... whatever... the whole point of taking part in a sport is to compete to win. If cheating becomes part of the equation–if one side competes under different circumstances than the other side–we can no longer accurately determine who legitimately won, so the whole point of the contest is lost.
  20. You're crazy.
  21. Seriously. One photo? And not even of the whole model? Come on...
  22. Given the state of the planet today and all that's going on in the world, sure, this "scandal" doesn't mean anything. But when you cheat in sports, no matter how trivial the cheating may be, the result of the competition is tainted because you can never know what the outcome would have been without the cheating. The Patriots cheated. Whether or not what they did had any effect on the outcome of the game is impossible to know for sure, but the bottom line is that they knowingly and intentionally broke the rules. They cheated. Simple as that. If we accept cheating in sports, then all sports results are meaningless.
