  1. Nobody is more frustrated with the lateness of the magazine than I am. I could explain here why it's always late (there are several reasons), but explaining why wouldn't solve anything or make the magazine on time, so I won't get into it. But... remember this: If you subscribe for a year's worth of MCM (9 issues), you will get 9 issues, a new issue approx. every month (the schedule varies because some of the issues are bi-monthly). But the bottom line is, you will get all 9 issues that you paid for. True, they will probably arrive after the month listed on the cover, but in the end, what does that really matter? If we deleted the month altogether, and just labeled them as issue 194, 195, etc., with no mention of month, you would still get the same 9 magazines on the same schedule. So what's the difference if you get your "January" issue in February, as long as you get a new issue every month? I don't mean to make excuses for the lateness, because there are really no good excuses. But really... the month listed on the cover is nothing more than a way to keep track of them, it has nothing to do with what's inside. As long as you're getting a new issue every month, does the month listed on the cover really matter?
  2. No selling allowed here on the forum, but PM me and I will give you all the information. There is also a Cars of the '50s book, and a brand-new history of Mustang models from 1964 to today, along with 5-6 other books on other model-related subjects. Yes, i keep myself busy!
  3. Yeah, it means join the rest of us in the 21st Century and dump that ridiculously bad IE browser and switch to a browser that actually works, like Firefox or Chrome.
  4. I like that idea. If anyone wants their model to be considered, PM me and include a photo or two of the model.
  5. In the contest issue, we only use models that were entered and/or displayed at the contests. For other issues, we rely on people who submit material to us. And yes, sometimes we see a model posted here that we like so much, we ask the builder if they would be willing to submit material to us so we can do a magazine feature on it.
  6. Bill and I just finished "Fifty Years of Mustangs," a look at the last 50 years of Mustang model kits... that one has been taking up most of our time but is now finished and available. So maybe the '70s book will be next.
  7. Hmmm... that explains a lot! I always thought that "synthetic oil" was a man-made "oil" that wasn't petroleum based.
  8. Killer cover of "Comfortably Numb"...
  9. Never mind the stage show and the theatrics and the lasers and the inflatable pigs, etc... I'm talking about sitting back with your eyes closed and just listening to the "Dark Side of the Moon" CD on a quality stereo system.. like mine...
  10. You could replace the affected pieces with Plastruct or Evergreen sheet styrene, if you can find the appropriate pattern.
  11. I mean synthetic gasoline made in a lab, and not based on fossil fuels. As in, "we can make as much of it as we want without relying on the availability of fossil fuels like oil and coal."
  12. Really? Not "Dark Side of the Moon?" (the best Floyd album by far, IMO, with "Wish You Were Here" second and "The Wall" third).
  13. Thanks, Clay. Yep, I've had my fill of contest models for a while...
  14. If they can make synthetic oil, why can't they make synthetic gasoline?
  15. Welcome back! Now get busy...
  16. Of course not! We have a page limit. Including all contests would result in a magazine as thick as the NYC phone book...
  17. I like it, design-wise, but don't see the point business-wise. If they sold a few thousand they'd be lucky. Too little mass appeal to make it a viable option.
  18. Remember, don't post any hints or answers here. PM me with year, make, and model. The answer: 1939-40 Aero 50 Dynamik
  19. "Back in the back of a Cadillac, number one with a bullet–I'm a power pack"...
  20. I've always liked that song, I like that "dirty" sound of the guitar.
