  1. Their website lists two automotive model kits. Not exactly a huge selection.
  2. I know, DRL law. But not here in the US.
  3. I don't think a Prius is an embarrassing car. Ugly, yes. But not necessarily embarrassing to be seen in. And as misguided as some (not all) Prius owners are about the actual impact their car has on the environment, hey... at least they're doing something (at least in their minds) to "save the planet." The result might not be there, but the intention is. IMO one of the most embarrassing cars to be seen in is a Hummer. Completely over the top, totally inefficient, impractical, a gas guzzler, and usually seen taking up two parking spots in any lot you see one in. The ultimate "look at me, I'm better (cooler, hipper, richer, whatever) than you" car that actually sends out just the opposite message.
  4. Hmmm... not much need for lights in the daytime...
  5. I think you're right... inventory varies depending on the area of the country.
  6. According to my source (which I posted a link to), it's a KIM 10-50. And from wikipedia (which Ken quoted above): The construction of the plant called Moscow Car Assembly Factory (Russian: Московский автосборочный завод) began in 1929. In 1930 the production of Ford A and Ford AA from parts that were provided by Ford Motor Company began. In December 1930 the plant was named KIM (Zavod imeni Kommunsticheskogo Internatsionala Molodezhy, Russian: КИМ (Завод имени Коммунистического Интернационала Молодежи) - Communist Youth International, literally "Factory named after Communist Youth International"), from 1930 to 1939 its official name was Moscow Car Assembly Factory named after KIM (Московский автосборочный завод имени КИМ) and then from 1939 until the beginning of the Great Patriotic War it was called Moscow Car Factory named after KIM (Московский автомобильный завод имени КИМ). In 1933 the production of Ford A and Ford AA ceased. On August 1, 1933, the factory became a subsidiary of GAZ and produced GAZ AA using parts from GAZ. In 1939 KIM was no longer the subsidiary of GAZ. In 1940 KIM started to produce their first own model, the KIM 10-50 (two-door saloon) based on the Ford Prefect. There was also a convertible named KIM 10-51. Around 500 cars both KIM 10-50 and KIM 10-51 were made before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. And Ken... you were so close! Just one year off...
  7. Well, since you posted a picture of the binder cover, I guess we can see that you're not making it up!
  8. Nor have I. In fact, I have never even seen any religious articles of any kind in my three local HLs. There is absolutely no religious "vibe" to the place at all. I guess inventory varies by geographic location. Maybe they are different in "bible belt" areas, but in metro Chicago the HL stores are as secular as any other store... the only thing that sets them apart in any way is the fact that they are closed on Sunday.
  9. Just a follow-up to Rob's question, because I was also wondering about the black scallop thingie on the hoods of Japanese police cars. Anyone?
  10. Has anyone mentioned the Yugo yet?
  11. From allpar.com: Believe it or not, the company that produced 1,611 variations of the K Car did NOT use the Neon under its PT Cruiser... The early Pronto concept cars were based heavily on the Neon's floorpan and mechanicals, but as the Pronto evolved into the PT, Chrysler found that it just couldn't get the Neon platform to work with the twist beam axle and Watts linkage. So, someone logged onto the CAD station and whipped up a new platform, which borrows from Mopars past and present, but shares very few parts-bin bits with them.
  12. Ball of confusion.... that's what the world is today. Hey hey...
  13. I like the look overall, and I like the idea of the holes in the interior sheet metal. However... when you drilled out the holes, the out-of-scale thickness of the panels is revealed. In order to look like scale "sheet metal" you should have thinned out the plastic on the back side wherever the holes are, to get the edges of the holes as thin as possible.
  14. That yellow and white PU would make an excellent snow plow...
  15. Your guess was wrong...
  16. This week's car is a 1940-41 KIM 10-50 (Russia). http://azlk-avto.ucoz.ru/index/kim_10_50/0-8 Who got it right: mr chips MikeMc DynoMight GeeBee Lovefordgalaxie ChrisR Johnag4004
  17. Except the windshield, apparently...
  18. Saw it again this afternoon! Or another one exactly like the one I saw this morning.
  19. Time to close this one. I think we have analyzed HB from every possible angle, and then some.
  20. Way too scary to shop at. There are rabid bible pushers roaming the aisles, they play church music on the intercom, and when you check out they try to exorcise you!
  21. No it's not. Only legal in Colorado and Washington. In AZ only "medical marijuana" is legal, not general usage by anyone. You need a (fake) note from your, ahem... "doctor."
  22. Seems like our national pastime has become "outrage."
  23. Saw a red Corvette convertible this morning... not sure of the year, but mid-'60s.
  24. Yeah, heavily populated by morons!
