  1. So I just sprayed the dash, and while that dries, I'm jumping back to the engine. I'll have new photos tomorrow, but in the meantime I can tell you this engine is way more detailed than a typical Pocher engine! It seems like every single line, linkage, and tiny detail is there. Unlike Pocher, which only hinted at some details, got some wrong, and flat-out left off many others, this engine has it all and then some. Man, I wish this kit was 1/8 scale!
  2. It's actually easier to just sand down the kit dash face (which is what I already did) than to recreate one from styrene sheet... cut it out, drill all the holes, etc. Now that I have a nice smooth face, I will add the four switches and go from there.
  3. My reference photos show four switches on the right side of the dash, not three... so I was going to sand the dash face smooth anyway and scratchbuild the four switches. But still, ejector pin marks on the face side of the dash is inexcusable.
  4. I don't think he meant his comment in a friendly way.
  5. Not really. Easier to sand it all flat and replace the switches with scratchbuilt ones. In fact, my photo references show four switches, not three... so I would have redone them anyway.
  6. Computer technology sucks.
  7. Yes he is. In fact, he made some decals for my Dennis fire truck that were just beautiful. And his fee was very fair. I will always be thankful to him for the work he did helping me finish my Dennis.
  8. Still, a detail many would omit. Nice work.
  9. No, on a Mac.
  10. I have Chrome installed. I should give it a try.
  11. I'm not exactly looking forward to it. But eventually I'll have to just do it.
  12. I dunno. I'm not exactly a computer geek... I wouldn't even know how to do that.
  13. As usual, a beautiful model. And I am officially jealous. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted a Corvette. With prices now where they are, it ain't ever gonna happen.
  14. Rich, I never had a quoting problem with Firefox. But with Safari it's a different story. I just want my Firefox back!!!
  15. BTW, for any of you interested (except "mini trucker" Ryan, I suppose)... the Mefistofele WIP is underway in the Big Boyz section. Ryan, feel free to completely ignore it.
  16. I resent your snarky comment. I only point out something"negative" when it's deserved. I also point out positives when deserved. I call 'em as I see 'em. Honestly, no fake praise. When I see a model that deserves an attaboy, I'll be the first to give it. In fact, there have been many times when I have seen a model posted here that I thought was so well done, I asked the builder if I could feature it in the magazine. And it was featured in the magazine. So maybe you need to keep your smartass comments to yourself.
  17. Charlie... you are one of the most talented modelers I have ever come across. Words alone can't describe what you have done here. You are to trucks what Gerald Wingrove is to cars. Just absolutely fantastic work. I have never seen better.
  18. I like how you drilled the holes where the clips that hold the trim would have been. Nice touch.
  19. They can. If they were actually thinking about what they were doing! Like this dash, for example. It's a flat part. It could have been tooled to be face up or face down. Either way would have been just as easy to do. Yet they did the bonehead move and tooled it so the ejector pin marks are on the face of the dash. No excuses for that. It's just plain dumb engineering. And especially on a $200 model!
  20. No way to say this without sounding like an egotistical snot... but I have never built a kit that I couldn't handle, ever since I was a kid. I dunno, maybe I just have some sort of special talent or something. And I doubt there is a kit out there that I couldn't handle. If I can correct, re-engineer, rework, alter, and modify a Pocher kit into a presentable model, there just ain't anything out there I couldn't handle.
  21. I tried Mozilla help. All the explanations they provided to recover a "lost" profile didn't work. Krap, krap, and more krap. Krap infinity.
  22. Ok, so now I'm on Safari... tried to quote your last line about the autonomous vehicle, Bill... but when I tried to delete the rest of your quote my posting window reverted back to your entire post. Man, this technology krap is effed up.
