You won't see too many models like this posted here "Under Glass," they aren't everyone's cup of tea. But they are one of my areas of interest (Brass Age vehicles). These are all 1/16 scale, all of them have been detailed and have many added scratchbuilt details not found in the kits. In chronological order beginning with Karl Benz's 1886 Motorkutsche ("motor coach")...

New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB

Let's revisit this topic once Moebius has a revised test shot to show us. -
Nice job! The chassis looks great.

I'd go with green gravel...

So what exactly is it that you do know about this? Any facts or anything like that?

Just out of curiosity I checked the official McDonald's website FAQs. The beef in US McDonald's stores comes mostly from the US, with a small amount imported from Australia and New Zealand. No Chinese beef is used in US McDonald's locations. And all the chicken they sell in US restaurants comes from the US. The story you read may be about foreign McD locations using Chinese beef and chicken. It's not political.... but it sure is off-topic!

I think you already know the answer. It's all about the $$$. I don't think calling it "corporate greed" is totally fair. The whole point of every corporation is to maximize profit. That's why they exist! To make money... as much as they can. If that's "greed," then we are all greedy, as I'm pretty sure all of us would want to make more money than we do now. If you want to pin the blame on something, I'd start with unfair trade practices between the US and China, not "greed." But we can't talk about the trade situation, because that's "political."

Getting into it, questions. (long read)

Don't worry, there's no problem. Maybe you can work something out with your parents. The internet really is the best (and easiest) way for you to find just about anything you need. -
New Moebius Ford Pick-ups 1971 Ranger XLT AND 1969 Custom SWB
Harry P. replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Boy, the old "we expect an accurate kit vs. we can fix it, we're modelers" debate has never gotten more of a thorough thrashing than in this thread! Everyone has a different level of acceptance... some of us take inaccurate kits as a given, some of us expect a kit to be accurate right out of the box. I have to say that I'm in the second camp. Expecting a scale model to be an accurate representation of the real thing is not some sort of crazy, pie-in-the-sky notion... it's an absolutely valid and rational expectation. And people who comment on the flaws of a kit are not lazy whiners that can never be satisfied and demand a "perfect" kit... they are people who expect a kit to be accurate, and when it's not, they discuss the kit's shortcomings on a model car discussion board. Imagine that! Using a model car discussion board to discuss model cars! If you are one of those people who either don't care about accuracy, or are willing to fix an inaccurate kit, that's fine. For you. But what gives you the authority to tell those of us who do expect a kit to be correct in the first place that we are somehow off-base? Fixing a kit's flaws is certainly within the capabilities of most of us. But that's not the point. Sure... most of us can do that work... but the point is, we shouldn't have to. -

Right. I think Moebius is working on revisions, so let's just wait and see what they come up with. No sense speculating now... let's wait until we actually see what revisions they make. And at that point, if there are still obvious flaws, by all means feel free to make mention of them. -

He asked what the best places were to buy stuff. I told him. Then he says "But I'm not allowed to buy on the internet." Like I said, if I had known that up front, I wouldn't have told him that he can find anything he wants online. Understand? -
The fact that two diametrically opposed laws exist on the books in the same state is plenty stupid in its own right, regardless of who enforces what. The nine most feared words in the English language... "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Looks good to me!

I do know the best stores. They're online. As I told you. If your parents won't let you shop online, I can't help you (and by the way, when I told you that everything you need/want is available online, I had no idea you were a kid. You didn't mention that until after I made my post). If you would have said "I'm just a kid and my parents don't let me shop online," then obviously I wouldn't have told you to shop online. -

If he's a kid and doesn't have a job, that has nothing to do with buying online. You don't need to have a job to shop online. Just as you don't have to have a job to shop anywhere. No store that I know of checks your employment status before they'll ring up the sale. If he's just a kid and his parents won't let him shop online, that's one thing. Whether or not he has a job is irrelevant to shopping online. All you need is a credit card... your own, or someone else's. -
Not quite, about half of that.

Simple answer. Anything and everything you want is available from dozens, if not hundreds, of vendors online. And you can do a price comparison instantly to find the best deal. Do a google search for what you want, and start shopping. -
I did a google search for the kit. Nothing. Also not on ebay, either ebay US or foreign. You're probably not going to find this kit unless you get lucky and it pops up on ebay some day.
