  1. It was in the 90s here a week or so ago...
  2. Wow. Just when I thought you couldn't possibly impress me any more!
  3. This image comes from today's local paper (Tribune). Taken this morning in a northwest suburb of Chicago right near me. The guy is busy mowing... the snow!!!
  4. 10:30 AM, Friday, May 16... Right now, right outside my window, it's snowing like crazy. 10:40 AM. This is a shot across the street towards my neighbor's house. Look carefully at the garage door. Yep, that's snow coming down!!!
  5. What's your source for the scale hardware?
  6. That's when you hear a car horn and you jump.
  7. From today's paper, believe it or not: Staff report 6:30 a.m. CDT, May 16, 2014 Wet snow is falling in the West Suburbs. "Yup, it's out there. May 16th," said National Weather Service Meteorologist Ed Fenelon. Wet snow might mix with rain and graupel (tiny white snow pellets) for a short period of time this morning, he said. No accumulation is expected, Fenelon said. Snow was reported this morning by WGN-TV near Interstate 355 and Roosevelt Road and by the National Weather Service near Sandwich and Dekalb. Officially, at O'Hare, only seven times has a trace amount of snow fallen after May 16. The latest was June 2, Fenelon said. The records go as far back as 1884.
  8. This week's car is a 1954-55 Swallow Doretti. http://www.doretti.co.uk/page9-2.htm Who got it right: wisdonm MikeMc maltsr GeeBee Badluck 13 TimJ
  9. Pearl Jam is one of my all-time favorite bands, and "Black" is one of my all-time favorite PJ songs! That cover is cool... a very nice take on the original. I like it!
  10. The G'n'R cover sounds good! But with Slash on guitar it sounds a whole lot like the original.
  11. Yeah, that's pretty good!
  12. Joss Stone and Melissa Etheridge doing Janis Joplin. Joss Stone does "Cry Baby" solo, then she and Melissa do "Piece of My Heart." M.E. was making her first appearance onstage after having undergone chemotherapy for breast cancer, hence the bald head. But what a performance from a person who was just still recovering from cancer surgery and treatment...
  13. Never heard of him. I'll have to checkout youtube.
  14. You did a really nice job on this. Very convincing rust and weathering, well done!
  15. This is sort of a "semi" cover.... because the original artist is part of it! It's Bruce Springsteen and Melissa Etheridge doing an acoustic version of the classic "Thunder Road." If there ever was a female artist who can do that song justice, it's Melissa Etheridge. I love this version of the song with Melissa playing that 12-string...
  16. Nice cover. I've never heard that before... very cool!
  17. Ok, that's a special case. My house is the highest one on the block... all water runs away from my house in all four directions. I have two sump pumps in the basement; I don't think either of them has ever even gone off in the 25 years I've lived in this house, no matter how hard it has rained, or for how long. The advantage of having a lot at the high point of the whole subdivision!
  18. I don't mind rain. You don't have to shovel rain!
  19. Since you mentioned maybe going with a two-tone paint job (or maybe some other custom touches?), here are a couple of ideas for you to consider.
  20. Because this was posted in 2008, three years before you signed on as a member in 2011!
  21. How did you know he was in PA???
  22. Can you imagine all the changes a 102-year old person has seen? When she was a girl, commercial air travel was unheard of... most people had no phones... no such thing as TV or radio... heck, even electric lights in your home weren't all that common, especially in rural areas and small towns. I think that people who were born early in the 20th century and have lived a long life probably have seen more change than people from any other era.
