Why didn't they make it easy on all of us and just call it the Acme Model Company? -
Can a dead garage door opener be fixed?

As for the Genie troubleshooting help line... swing and a miss! Based on the tests they had me do while they were on the phone guiding me through the process, they told me I needed a new RPM sensor. Since that was the same conclusion as what I found after I had researched online, I figured that had to be the problem, so I bought the new part and installed it. No go. The opener still wasn't opening. So I called the help line back, and this time the tech went through even more diagnostics and tests, and pretty much narrowed it down to the only part that it possibly could still be... the main circuit board (the brains of the whole operator). Just bought a new board on Amazon, and will see if that was the trouble. If not, I'm in the market for a new opener! -
Not just "a model magazine." That's a Jairus Watson "Sketchpad" feature from Model Cars Magazine.

Here's your answer: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31186&p=308830 Looks like you're out of luck unless you can scratchbuild the '54 grille. -
If you know the answer for sure (you know the source of the photo).... don't post the answer! It spoils the game for everyone else. The answer: MODEL!

It's no wonder that we can't agree on the correct pronunciation of a Japanese name... we can't even agree on the pronunciation of an American name! Willys. It's pronounced "willis," as in "whatchoo talkin 'bout, Willis?" Not "willeez." -
I'm getting pretty scared and worried right now...

The first thing you have to wrap your ahead around is the fact that everyone will die, your mom included. Like Bill said, that may sound cruel and cold, but it's reality and there's no avoiding it. And when it happens, there's no way you're going to be able to put aside your feelings or "tough it out" somehow. Losing a loved one hurts and there's no way around it. I lost my mom in 2006 and my dad a year later. It was hard at the time, and when you're right in the middle of the process it seems hard to believe that you'll ever feel "normal" again... but I guarantee you will. It's an old cliché but in this case it's 100% true: time heals all wounds. Don't be freaked out by the fact that you're freaked out. It's completely natural to be. Death is inevitable, but it's normal to feel uneasy about it, especially when a family member is involved. -
I think if you paint the bumper the same color as the flames it would look ok.

Yes, indeed!

That looks really good!

But I did remember that I forgot you twice! Next time I have to pay closer attention. I keep a hand-written list of who gave me the correct answer as they come in. You are on my hand-written list, I have no idea how I skipped you when I posted the results.

Is that the original original from the 1940s comic books? -
The sidewalls seem to "bulge" way too much, as if the tires are too narrow for the rims (and of course, if so, not your fault). Here's a photo from the Koo CD with the kit tires. See how the sidewalls aren't bulged out like yours are? Marvin's tires may be dimensionally correct and Pocher's wheels may be too wide, I don't know. But to my eye those sidewalls look "off." Again, not your fault at all. But to me it looks like the tires are stretched too far to fit over the rims. Edit: it might be the fact that yours are whitewalls and that makes the bulge more visually pronounced. No big deal in any case... but for whatever reason, your tires just look "off" to me.

Are those Marvin's tires? I have to wonder about the way the sidewalls are "ballooned" out the way they are. Something seems off...
