  1. We'll see...
  2. Not much warmer here. In the mid 30s, windy and raw. If this is "spring," I want a refund...
  3. Very nice! Especially at such a small scale.
  4. Ok, talk about getting old... I still can't believe this, but as of 5:22 PM yesterday... I am a grandfather!
  5. Remember, don't post any answers or hints here. PM me with year, make and model. The answer: 1975 Wolseley Series 18/22
  6. I also have the Buick and the Packard. Beautiful models.
  7. Is the body of this kit accurate? Ray, this is not meant as a comment on your work, but on the kit itself. Looking at your photos, the hood seems awfully "tall," it almost looks as if the whole body is several scale inches too tall. Or have I had one too many cocktails?
  8. We got a "dusting" here. Just enough to cover the ground, not enough to bother with shoveling.
  9. Sliders aren't bad!
  10. Nice work so far, Mike.
  11. Yeah, it's like watching surgery. Geez... my workbench doesn't look anywhere near that spotless. In fact, it looks more like a tornado just hit!
  12. Agree with the guys. That is some smoooooooooooth paint! And I like the ghost flames, too. BTW... have you received my PMs? You really need to read them.
  13. That is exactly how it always has worked, and still does. Your problem might be an outdated web browser. Is the browser you're using the latest version? Try Safari or Firefox. I use both, and have never had an issue with Photobucket.
  14. Thank you all for the positive feedback. It's great to see that models of these old guys attract some interest here. To me, brass-era cars are just beautiful in their own unique way. I love 'em, and I'm happy to see that I'm not alone!
  15. One of the best songs nobody has ever heard of. 8 1/2 minutes of Johnny Hickman guitar school. And check him out falling off the stage monitor at 6:56...
  16. There are a lot of long songs I like... Hey Jude, Stairway to Heaven, Eurotrash Girl (Cracker), When the Levee Breaks, Tangled Up in Blue, Hotel California, a lot of Yes and Pink Floyd songs are long... I could probably name dozens of songs more than 6 minutes long that I like. But that one isn't one of them!
  17. "Befehlswagen" translates roughly to "command wagon," and "Panzer" means "tank." So it would be kleine Panzerbefehlswagen (small tank command wagon), which sounds redundant in English... but words don't always translate perfectly one to one between languages.
  18. Ok, now that song is more to my liking. I can hear Bruce Springsteen singing that one in my head.
  19. I don't think she was great, either. I think a lot of her "legendary" status is due to the fact that she was a woman in what was then very much a man's world (blues rock), and the fact that she died so young. As far as judging her on her talent alone, I agree with you that she wasn't anything special.
  20. Don't forget that you can do all sorts of things in a recording studio. 21 guys, 5 guys, 1 guy... with overdubs and multi-track and the endless list of technical trickery a modern recording studio offers, you can't trust anything to be what it sounds like it is! I'm sure Brian Wilson used his share of studio tricks.
  21. So many '50s "customs" I've seen are completely garish and goofy looking, with too may styling cliches thrown in, a loud paint scheme, etc. This, on the other hand, is not only a very tasteful and subtle customization, but I think it looks way better than the stock styling. I especially like the taillight styling. This is a grand slam, Cliff!
  22. Exactly why I like them. Everyone has their own particular favorite aspect of model building. For some it's painting, for others, detailing engines, etc. My favorite thing is scratchbuilding and adding intricate detail... so brass-era cars are the perfect subject for me, because there's so much detail that can be added. Like those "handles" on the headlights!
  23. One last shot... I realized I forgot the "handles" on the headlights. They are brass rod formed in a loop around the handle of my X-acto knife.
  24. Your problem is that you're just too emotional!
  25. I just spray over it.
