  1. I like it better than the real Camaro!
  2. They are miniature representations of the real thing. That's a scale model in my book.
  3. Never lost a business, but I have "parted ways" with a wife. As Bill Clinton says, "I feel your pain." Welcome back. Dive right in.
  4. Kits: ebay. Supplies/tools/plastic stock, some paint (Testors transparent Black Window Tint and metalizers, plus acrylic craft paint): Hobby Lobby and/or Hobbytown USA. Most paints for bodies: Local home center (Menards) or auto parts store.

It's actually a lot easier than you think. I could teach you the basics of PS layers in less than an hour. Actually, learning the ABCs of PS isn't hard at all. What is confusing and daunting is the sheer number of different tools, effects, filters, and functions that PS offers. I've been using PS more or less every day for well over 20 years, and there are still functions that I either don't really understand, have rarely or ever used, or don't even know exist!
  6. But a Hall of Fame is part of the museum. http://www.themodelcarmuseum.org/Programs/Hallofame/hallofame.html
  7. Technically, yes.
  8. And the perfect woman to talk to about manufacturing...
  9. Ah, yes, now I get it.
  10. Wow, John. Great subject. I look forward to watching this come together.
  11. Very cool. Interesting subject + your talent = one great model! Could make a great magazine feature (wink, wink)... BTW, the decals you made for me for the Dennis turned out perfect. I posted the finished model Under Glass in the trucks section if you want to take a look.
  12. I agree that the whole idea of a "Hall of Fame" that's not based in numbers and production (unlike the baseball HOF, where you can really judge a given player's career against his peers) is completely subjective. Again, I am NOT saying that any of the people listed above are unworthy. I make no judgements on those already inducted, But looking at the list, I have to wonder why people like George Totef or John Hanley or Bud Andersen, just to name a few, are not included. Or even Tom Daniel, a person who had a huge impact on the hobby. And doesn't a guy like Gerald Wingrove deserve a spot among the builders listed?
  13. I don't agree that people who are still active in their field should be in a Hall of Fame. Not any disrespect meant to the people, they didn't induct themselves, and I'm not saying they don't deserve to be there... I just don't like the concept of a "Hall of Fame" that includes people who are still at it. Just my personal opinion. I like the way that pro sports Halls of Fame do it. BTW... in your list, nothing since 2010?
  14. I left it up in the interest of science...
  15. How does a current builder belong in a Hall of Fame? How many current players are in the Baseball Hall of Fame? Nobody can be enshrined in a Hall of Fame, whether it's baseball, football, modeling, or anything else, until their "career" is over and that person's body of work or accomplishments can be evaluated in total. Then you can see how that person stacks up against previous HOF members, and whether or not that person deserves a place in the Hall.
  16. Looks to me like you did a fantastic job on this kit. Beautiful!
  17. And not a kit. Hand made (scratchbuilt).
  18. Final vote: 40 REAL, 12 MODEL. And the answer is... MODEL! A big model, but still a scale reproduction of the original, or "model!"
  19. I have to agree with the guys who say you can pull up unburnished foil and reposition it... I do it all the time. I also touch the glue side as I apply the foil, never ever have had foil that's been burnished down come off a model. I also put pieces of "waste" that are large enough to save back onto the backing sheet... have been doing it for years and never had a problem reusing those pieces to foil small areas. And I try to cut the piece of foil with as little waste as possible, I don't do the "three times wider than you need" thing. Sounds like Tom may own stock in the company!
  20. Are you saying "pass" on a free vinyl travel bag????!!!
