  1. Beautiful! Never saw the Celica before... man, that is a nice model!
  2. That's correct. To figure out the sizes in scale, you measure the real thing and divide by 24 if you want 1/24 scale, or 25 if you want 1/25 scale. A 1/24 scale model would be just that... 1/24 the size of the real thing. A 1/25 scale model is 1/25 the size of the real thing, etc.
  3. This may be a small point, but the traffic light looks really good!
  4. I'm in the process of covering the rest of the fuselage with birch panels. As you can imagine, it's a very slow and tedious process to fit each individual panel onto a surface that curves in two directions. More new photos once I have something interesting to show you guys...
  5. Let's say that aviation technology in the early 20th century wasn't quite as advanced as it is today!
  6. Yeah, we don't have a specific "introduction" section, but you're in the right place! Welcome aboard.
  7. Who knew there even is a scale model of this???
  8. That's weird. Kamloops isn't all that far from Denver.
  9. Heavy, man... almost Biblical in its wisdom...

  11. Remember... do not post any hints or answers! PM me with specific year, make and model. The answer: 1968 Renault Caravelle
  12. Amateurs...
  13. The model is intended to be built as a "skeleton" with no coverings, but I decided to build it covered, like a real one. So yeah, all of that internal detail won't be seen, but that's the way I decided to do it.
  14. Are you sure you want to show us your bad ones?
  15. If it's just the look of a used car you're after, and not rust specifically, remember this: a typical car's underside after a while is pretty much all the same shade of dirt. Basically everything is dark gray, unless the underside has been steam-cleaned.
  16. No new pix, but I got a lot more birch panels in place on the fuselage today. What a tedious process! Making templates, cutting and fitting, re-cutting and re-fitting and tweaking each panel individually is a real pain, especially if you want nice, tight seams. The fitting of the panels is by far the hardest part of this project so far... it makes building the wooden fuselage "skeleton" seems like child's play by comparison!
  17. It gets confusing. The car came out of the Barris Studio, but was actually designed by Tom Daniel, working for Barris. So it could be said that it's a "Barris" designed car, generically... but the George Barris didn't design it.
  18. I'm almost positive that you have the front wheels built wrong... pretty sure you have the wheel outers installed backwards (inside surface facing outward). Check this photo, this is how the wheels should look:
  19. Did you build those front wheels the right way??? Why are they sticking out past the tires like that? Also... no tie rod? Is there none in the kit?
