  1. Remember, don't post any hints! The answer: MODEL!
  2. I like Papa Mini!
  3. Simple method, but fantastic results. The "no clear coat" style looks much more realistic to me than a model under several coats of clear and that "dipped in syrup" look. It really looks like painted sheet metal, not a plastic model. Nice...
  4. Nice job on the model, but my question is in regards to your backdrop. Is that brick pattern printed on paper, or is that some sort of "brick" molded plastic sheet that you detail painted? Also, what's the material used on the "concrete" running along the bottom of the wall?
  5. Beautiful model! Was that paint lacquer or enamel? And how long did you let the paint dry before working it?
  6. Look closely at the photos. The car is literally jacked up with portable jacks. My guess would be to keep the weight and stress off the suspension while the car is displayed.
  7. Exactly! Topics that have interest will sustain themselves, topics where the interest has dropped off will gradually drop down the page and disappear. That's how a forum is supposed to work. There's no need to "resurrect" topics that you think are important by posting another topic that's nothing but a link to the previous topic! That's crazy. If you want to "bump" a topic that you find interesting, just post a reply in the original topic... don't start a whole new topic talking about where to find the old topic!
  8. Ok... I see your point. I just don't want to start seeing threads popping up that are nothing else but "look at this thread" threads.
  9. You're posting a thread that's nothing more than a link to another thread? Is that really necessary?
  10. Time will tell how well this idea pans out. I know that there are people who are definitely not amused when they open the box and see all that sparkly "My Little Pony" plastic... but I think that overall, the buzz that this creates (both positive and negative) will probably work in their favor in the long run. Like that old saying, "I don't care what sort of publicity I get, just make sure you spell my name right!"
  11. And you are exactly the type of consumer they're looking for.
  12. The red plastic is a marketing gimmick. Supposedly they put one in each case, along with the regular white plastic ones, and when the kits hit the shelves there's no way to know by looking at the box if it's a regular white plastic kit or a "special" red one. Apparently it was thought that the "special" red kits would drive overall sales of the kit because there would (theoretically) be increased demand because people would want to be one of the lucky ones who got a "special" red kit. Turns out most people are not liking the red ones, and even trying to trade them for a "regular" white plastic kit. Oh well... so much for clever marketing schemes. Anyone remember the disaster known as "New Coke?"
  13. He's not in that role. "Charlie Harper" was killed off, AK plays a completely different character.
  14. You can't take the color out of a colored part.
  15. That doesn't do anybody here any good without a link to the album!
  16. Don't think so. Current exchange rate puts the US and Canadian dollars almost exactly even.
  17. The turbo plumbing might not make sense, but that's a cool model! Nicely done, and the suicide doors are a nice touch. Very cool!
  18. It uses whatever filter you want to put in it... assuming you can find the right filter size. Pace sells replacement filters, but they're nothing special, just regular old pleated paper filters like you can find in any home center.
  19. Yeah, you can do that. I was just wondering why. I thought maybe a mod did it, and I couldn't see any reason why.
  20. Yeah, you use the fan to draw fumes and overspray out while painting. No sense to run the fan once you're done painting, IMO.
  21. That thing is so cute!
