  1. Actually there are other Caribbeans out there. Both Franklin and Danbury Mint make one. Franklin makes a '55, Danbury a '56.
  2. So wouldn't it make more sense to be 81 Wagoneer?
  3. There is no way to name the "top five" airbrushes. That's like asking us to list the "top five" colors or the "top five" models. No way it can be done, everyone has their own personal preferences. Just about any name-brand airbrush will do the job. The biggest real difference is between single action and double action, and gravity feed vs. suction feed... and again, there is no "right" answer, it's a matter of personal preference. A double action brush gives you more control over the spray than a single action, because you can alter the amount of paint that you're spraying by how far back you pull the trigger. But a single action brush can also do a great job. Same with suction feed vs. gravity feed... they both have their pros and cons and personal preference is ultimately what it comes down to.
  4. Not much mystery there. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out how I picked my screen name... And the avatar is also pretty self-explanatory, I think. If Gregg's the sheriff around here, I guess I'd be the deputy.
  5. You know we would crack that code eventually...
  6. Same here. To me that is THE Batmobile.
  7. Thanks! That's an illustration I did.
  8. Avatar pix has to be below a certain size (I think 200x200 pixels?).
  9. If you want email notification of PMs and more, you have to have those options selected in your preferences.

    Ford GT

Posting photos of a diecast and passing it off as your work isn't going to win you many fans. BTW... I have the same diecast.
  11. Hey, at least you do it! I see models in "Under Glass" all the time with no inside or outside mirrors. It's probably the #1 mistake made.
  12. Oh yeah... I'll be doing a thorough internet search for references. BTW... I checked out the blueprint.com like you suggested. All they had on this car is one single side view. I downloaded it, but the search for references goes on. But thanks for that source!
  13. Painting the body, no doubt. I hate painting the body. I hate the whole process... the sanding, the painting, trying to get rid of the orange peel and dust specks, etc. I would almost be willing to pay someone to do the painting for me!
  14. Yeah, I'm guessing the number of people who actually saw the car race in 1911 must be pretty small, seeing as how it's 101 years later now!
  15. If you mean literally due to being a car modeler... I guess shopping for fabric (for interior and convertible top material) in the sewing section of Hobby Lobby. I'm always the only male in the whole department. Since the fabric is on huge rolls something like 3 feet wide, and is sold by the square yard, they must wonder what I'm up to when I ask for a 6 inch piece.
  16. Very nice work! The detail is incredible... this should be great.
  17. Yeah, you're right. So what is it? Someone's "interpretation?"
  18. That's assuming that the car in the Indy museum is actually painted the right color. As you can see by the photos I posted (and a lot more online)... the actual color seems to be a matter of personal opinion!
  19. Just heard on the radio: heart attack.
  20. They spent the time and money where it counted... the body. Those parts not as visible on the finished model didn't get any "special treatment."
  21. What????!!! Wow... that's too bad. Only 66.
  22. Obviously only one of these photos (if any) can be right... BTW... exactly how many of this supposedly "one of a kind" car are floating around out there, anyhow?
  23. I also found photos of the car ranging from a bright lemon yellow to a very "orangey" dark yellow, which is what the real color probably was (not "orange" as we might imagine "orange" to be, but more of a "schoolbus yellow" color).
