    Jim, that looks really nice.
  2. Geeze Ray, do you have every Cobra model/diecast/toy ever made..??? How many do you have by the way?
  3. Dare I ask what kit this is..?? Obviously the manufacturer and/or designer did not do their due diligence/homework before putting the kit into production. As you say, there really is no excuse for this.
  4. Tom, that looks really nice.
  5. I totally understand that buying the cookies is basically making a donation to the Girl Scouts. I also understand that we live in a profit based, inflationary society. I get it. I'm not a naive person, It just surprised me that even the Girl Scout's cookies are going the "pay more for less" route.
  6. Jim, the glass is regular kit thickness clear plastic. Mark, yeah, the '59 Dodge is a BIG car. My Coronet was 18' 2" long. My younger daughter played upright string Bass in H.S. and at the end of a school year we had to return the one she was allowed to bring home. It lay down flat on the rear seat (without the peg extended) and didn't touch either side.
  7. My wife came home from work tonight with a couple of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies that she bought from someone there. I pretty much like ALL of them. I opened a box of Tagalongs (Peanut Butter on a cookie, covered in chocolate). The price went up to $4.00 per box from $3.50. Now the cookies are smaller, and there are only 15 cookies in the box...!!! I know it's for a good cause, but come on...... Do the Girl Scouts have to pull the same moves on us that all the other manufacturers do?? Raise the price and give you less....!!! (Yeah, I know...the Girl Scouts don't actually make the cookies.) I may seriously rethink buying them in the future. Just sayin....
  8. Yeah Jim, I'm workin' on it. Still sanding molded detail off the seats and puttying and sanding the front seat back. I also have to scratch up some realistic looking armrests, then paint it, apply some upholstery decals, flock the carpet and rear tray, and then start detailing the dashboard......LOTS to do yet. Today I trimmed the front & rear glass to fit after cutting them apart from the one piece promo glass. I want to check the fit of the interior bucket with the glass tacked in place because, while Modelhaus' interiors are good, there is usually always fitment issues once the glass is in place. I'd like to get everything right now so I don't have cursing and yelling at final assembly time.
  9. Drew, that looks really great. Nice job.
  10. That's looking really great Bruce.
  11. I just put one of these together as a gift for my grandson the next time I see him. It has stickers, not decals. I don't expect all the fragile chrome parts to last long once he gets his hands on this thing......he's almost 3.
  12. Thank you very much Carl. I'm very happy with the way the "baby poo" color came out on this car. It's really not a bad match to the 1:1 car. Yeah John, I've got 2 whole months... won't be a problem at all. Actually I'm hoping to have it done in a couple of weeks or less. I attached the interior courtesy lights and made a pair of visors from thin sheet styrene tonight. I'll install them tomorrow after I trim the side windows from the promo glass. I'll need to fire up the trusty Dremel to make short work of that. Are you going to have your car done for the NNL..??
  13. Man that is one beautiful car.
  14. Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. John, yeah the interior is coming along... slowly. I sanded off the engraved pattern on the seats and filled in the "dip" in the front seatback with bondo. I have to saw a split into the front seatback, as the seatbacks on the 1:1 car would fold forward to allow entry to the rear seat. I drilled holes in the side panels for resin window cranks and door handles. Jonathan, I agree with you about the '59 Dodge being a beautiful car. The colors of the one I had weren't so beautiful though...LOL. I'll be doing another one sometime in the future in more "beautiful" colors. Tom, yes it is fun working on this car. I've wanted to do this for a long time. You'll hopefully get to see it in person at NNL East.
  15. I sent Gary Schmidt an email back on January 25th inquiring as to the status of this kit and if he had any guesstimation as to when we might expect to see it released. I'm still waiting for a response.
  16. The enamel clearcoat finally dried enabling me to polish it out and do all the BMF work. Here's how it looks now...... Also, the headliner is painted and the headliner bows have been foiled. I still have to make interior visors and install the courtesy lights. Work is progressing on the resin interior bucket and that progress will be reported as soon as I have something good to show. I also have to cut the side window glass out of the one piece promo glass. Thanks for following along.
  17. I've been reading this thread since it started and have been trying to decide how to respond...... I guess it depends on whether it is your body or your mind that is answering... I will qualify all this by stating that I'll be 67 in April and retired. Let's just say that a LOT of things change as we get older...... I used to be able to party until the wee hours of the morning (several six packs or a good sized bottle of Jack D. + ??) and still get up at 6 AM to go to work.) Now if I'm up past midnight it's rare, and if I do happen to indulge in 1 or 2 drinks it's definitely bedtime for Bonzo soon thereafter... I could eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. Now if I eat a meal after 7 PM I get either indigestion or acid reflux, especially anything with tomato sauce, which wakes me up in the middle of the night... I am also now Lactose Intolerant so I use Lactaid Milk (which is great stuff, by the way, and I highly recommend it.) I had no problem moving furniture or lifting heavy objects in and around the house. Now my 30 year old daughter (who still lives with us) is the strong one in the family. Part of my daily routine now is to clean and reglue my dentures in so I can eat and talk like a normal person (sometimes several times a day...... Bless you Super PoliGrip...!!!) I won't even mention the "no nooky" situation...... Once menopause hit, the Mrs. locked that door! My doctor calls it Insomnia, but I call it a P.I.T.A.... I wake up after 3 hours... I used to be able to sleep for 8 to 10 hours straight...... (Must have been all the Jack D. Do I mentally feel like an young man... absolutely. Physically though... not so much. It is however, what it is, a natural progression of aging, and there's not a whole lot we can do about it. I have my family, my grandson, the roof over my head, a bunch of good friends, and this great hobby. I opened my eyes this morning so it's a good day, and I'm thankful for every one I get.
  18. Jim, that Rod looks really great.
  19. Tom, while it probably won't do you any good to do it anyway, you should call your local Postmaster and tell him that story and ask him the very same question.
  20. Wow......wow......wow......wow...... Geeze Frank, you sure don't get tired of making junkers do you..??? You should get together with Manny Solano...... You guys could take over the world with your rusted junkers..!!!
  21. Try using a small piece of a branch from either a tree or a shrub from your yard. You could strip any leaves from it and make it look like it's a "dead" tree...... like the rusted car.
  22. Tim, that is one beautiful '32. Great job.
  23. John, great job on running all those lines........... but you're a freakin' crazy man...!!!
