thanks everyone for the kind words. the paint is lemon twist(an oringinal color) from dupont with dupont clear. the hood pins were made from piano wire rounded at the ends with a dremel; and the clips are some photoetched pieces i had loft over from another build. thanks again. andy

    here it is. finnaly done.
  3. Thanks guys. The seats were really easy. Just picked up a leopard print decal sheet from scale motorsports and used some micro sol and micro set with a blow dryer to lay down evenly. Then bordered it with sewing thread glued down with Elmer's glue
  4. Thanks for the comments guys. Been working on other projects so nothing new. I lowered it but doing a spring under. Pretty easy to lower. Hopefully i will get back to this one soon
  5. thanks for the comments everyone. got a lot done on this one in the last couple days...maybe a couple more to go. got the dog dishes machined tonight...i think they look pretty close to the real ones. will probably be under glass on the next post. thanks for looking.
  6. beautiful car! traditional all the way. only thing i would do is wash some black into the door and trunk jams.
  7. thanks for the info. when this build was in the mockup stage i was goin to mold the fenders but i didnt think i could get the chassis to fit. i thought about it for a long time and decided it would be easier to just install it later...not really happy with the line in the fenders but it is too late now...oh well.
  8. this one showed up in the mail today got these a couple weeks ago
  9. got it cleared today. needs to be wet sanded and then recleared to get rid of some dord nibs and smooth out the tape lines
  10. finaly got back to this one. i couldnt find any wheels that would fit so i ordered some from scenes unlimited and had to cut the centers out and put them into some rims that would fit the tires. also got it painted and cleared today...dupont base/clear lemon twist.
  11. finally got it cleared today
  12. Nice. Knowin your other builds, this one should be nice
  13. Love it. Very nice weathering
  14. Lookin real good so far. I've been thinking about using a 50 Buick grille on either a 49 merc or the Hudson. How was the fit. Did it take much modifications?
  15. started this one a while back. its the amt kit with the motor from the 37 ford pickup kit. its been channeled with the wheels and tires from modelhaus. i will let the pics tell the rest. thanks for looking.
  16. not much of an update but i did get the seats done and interior flocked. what do you guys think about the white bed cover?
  17. well its been a while but have made some progress. engine and chassis is done and body is painted...still needs clear coat. didnt turn out too bad for my first panel job. i used testors one coat lacquers...diamond dust, inca gold, and purplicious. here is what i have. pics are a bit out of order but here is the paint process.
  18. nice! one of my favoreit movies of all time. would love to get one of these but everytime i have seen them they are very expensive...maybe someday.
  19. the kit shocks didnt fit at all so i had to modify them a lot...ended up using different ones for the back. i order for the top chassis supports to look good they needed to be glued on before paint...this means that the headers need to go on after the engine is in place...kind of a tight fit. the headers didnt fit either because of the chassis supports so i made new ones. thats ok though because the kit headers didnt look super great anyway. the steering column is too short to reach the floor so i had to make it longer. the interior was molded poorly so i flocked more of it than i wanted just to cover it up. this is just a very simple kit so a lot of things need to be corrected, but dont get me wrong, i am having a lot of fun building it so far. wish the manufacters would make new gasser and awb kits with more of todays detail standards.
  20. Just using the stock 273. No detail since it will be covered anyway
  21. No decals just detail painting. Just color everything with a silver sharpie and then go back with a black wash. The raised areas will stay silver. Then paint the needles red with a toothpick
  22. here is the pic of my cuda's dash also a pic of the dash on the nova that im working on hope this helps
  23. got the interior done today. i ended up flocking most of it because of the poor molding...tried to hide it. also made a button on the shifter for the brake lock...its all in the details
  24. im building this one for the revell gearz contest. it was lowered a little and will be painted yellow. so far engine is wired and plumbed with machined pulleys and the interior is done with flocking and seatbelts; also added an ignition key and keychain.. here is what i have so far.
