  1. another outstanding build Doc!
  2. thanks jeff. the paint is tamiya ts-16 (yellow)
  3. just picked this kit up today. this is the first kit of this model i have ever seen so im not familiar with its predecessors. all in all im pretty happy with it...has lots of possibilities. there are a few things that could have been done different. for starters, the intake should have been a standard small block with a carb; the firewall has no detail, so a master should atleast been added; and the door panels are smooth with a bump out for the armrest. other then those things im pretty stoked about this kit. will probably pick another one up in the future.
  4. got her painted this weekend...kind of building this one like the box art. the blower hat in this kit leave little to be desired so i used injectors and a mailbox from my parts stash. not sure about the mailbox being painted yellow, what do ya think. also trying different tire combo's...would also love some imput on that. i also have some pie crust slicks with no white walls.
  5. c'mon bill, you are making the rest of us look bad! words cant even describe how bad a$$ this is. cant wait to see it in person.
  6. started this one last week. AMT reissue 37 chevy gasser. got everything painted except the body. started assembly on the engine. heres where im at.
  7. love that show. unfortunately i dont have cable but am in the middle of season 4 on netflix...just cant get enough of it.
  8. absolutely beautiful! are you sure that you didnt just take pics of a real car?
  9. very neat and interesting. i like it a lot!
  10. thanks everyone for the great comments. had a great time on this low stress build. the paint is semi gloss black from nason(bomb can)...goes on so smooth. the body is the kit piece with a scale 6" chop. thanks again. andy
  11. thanks Alyn and congrats to everyone that recieved an award. what a great show it was dispite the 110 degree weather. sooooo many beautiful cars to look at! hope to make it again.

  17. thanks everyone for the kind words.
  18. thanks guys. ace, dry lakes is the look i am after. was thiniking about weathering it with some salt but not sure how to do it. if anyone could offer me some advise, it would be greatly appreciated.
  19. this one started out as a glue bomb that i built as a kid. after a trip to the purple pond and some fresh paint here is where im at. machined pulleys, radius rods and radiator support replaced with metal, wheels and tires from the 37 ford pickup kit and of course a 6" chop. if i ever get this one done it will be my first successful chop job.
  20. well i guess the finised pics didnt show up in the move so here they are.
  21. looks as if i have started another one before finishing anything...oh well. AMT 61 ranchero. not the best kit as far as detail, but in my opinion has a very nice body. tempted to glue the hood shut cuz the engine kinda sucks too, but decided to build it up any way. paint is testors one coat lime ice...still needs clear. wheels are 3 bar spinners from modelhaus and tires i think are from the 49 merc kit. here is where im at so far.
  22. lookin really nice. what color did you use on the wheels?
  23. thanks guys. here is the only engine shots that i have.
  24. first time weathering anything to this extent. had fun and learned a few things. comments welcome
  25. great show! some of the best builds i have ever seen. even took home a few trophies myself. Bill, your car is fantastic...hope to have your skills some day.
