Hey Jim, what do you know/remember about Crown Mfg? They did a conversion kit in the early-mid '70s to install a SBC engine in the back seat area. My best friend & l pooled our $ together & ordered one, but the deal on the Corvair fell through & we were stuck with a kit we had no use for. l don't suppose they're still around or someone else is making a similar conversion? Bart.

l love the "cut-fit cut-fit" method! l have many going on that l alternate when/if l get stumped. l like the looks of the mock-up & love your suspension choices. Should be a cool ride, l'll follow along. Bart.

Donn is right. lf you could put a curved strip from the window sill to the top of the tub it would be very close to the 1:1. Bart.

l think that's what l'm gonna do, Jim. The paint & decals ought to be different shades. What are the odds they'd be the exact same shade & sheen of black?

...If l lay down the black good enough, the stripe decals may appear a bit duller anyway. So there's a chance l could pull this off with out trying!

....That would look cool, but l'm building a phantom factory stock that Chevrolet might (should) have done in 1969. Maybe another build down the road.

We all know about ghost flames. l have a "phantom" SS 396 project that l REALLY want to paint black to show off some P.E trim bits & badges. Problem is l can only come up with black stripes. Since it's a phantom anyway, l'm thinking it might add to the allure of it. So, has anyone seen or used "ghost stripes" successfully? Thanks, Bart.
