Tom AMT has been ;putting out some obscure stuff like the sand dragster exclusive on Autoworld website. Hard to say if they have a lot of stuff to pick from. There is a list of the Junior kits on a reseller's website, there were 26 Junior kits molded in color. Notice that AMT has been putting out kits in color like the '40 Ford coupe in orange. Maybe they are quietly supporting in the know models by putting out Junior kits. All you have to do is leave engine out (can build it later) and put a couple suspension parts on and have your own Junior or Craftsman kit. Thanks!

Builders When's Round2 going to put out one of these? Yes, they did get burned putting out the Styline kit. These were beginner kits for kids put out in the 60's. The cincher is to mold the kit in color, can be built without painting. These kits had hood molded in and metal axles. Note: you can fake them and just build kit without engine and just enough suspension parts to hold wheels up. Thanks!

Mr. Ellis and Mark Great info about difference between customizing parts and Advanced Custom parts! Also about year break between Styline/Stylinizing and Advanced Custom! In this post somebody said this kit at one time came with metal axle(curbside version) or detailed suspension, that's rare! The part about using putty to blend in Advance Customizing parts makes them different from Custom parts is pretty sharp. Then you can add your own touches and have a 'Putty Sled'. Thanks!

the Ace Somebody will do a post with the pictures of parts trees and all six sides of box. This '57 Ford is a popular kit. It was the first year of the new body style. Call me chicken, but I'll wait for the pictures. Thanks!

Mr Ellis That's a good point about Custom Parts or Styline parts. Then their is a difference between Styline and Advanced Custom parts and maybe Grand Slam parts.. To muddy the water some more, Styline kits bring up Styling and designing so some of the parts are Styling or restyling parts The '57 ford could be a real dud for customizers and just be Stock and Drag version.. Robert Voyles Thank you for doing that work to post a very complete set of pictures! Amazing all the info on box. Back then they worked hard to get that $1.99 out of customer. Those pictures motivated me to see if they still made Candy Apple paints like the little cans on box. They do.Good ole' Testors. Thanks!

the Ace The parts your looking for are Drag or Race parts. Someone from Autoworld ought to post pictures of what's in the kit. Other forum guys want custom parts. I think the Styline parts are a tough go because that would make it a curbside kit. Wonder if thats's what a Grand Slam version kit is? From Racing parts and custom parts to Styline/Advanced Customizing with real suspension? Regular Guy

the Ace You're welcome! What's needed next is a 'What's in the box?' report. Pictures of all the parts trees and all sides of the box. Thanks!

Builders This is on the way according to Autoworld website, http://round2corp.com/product/1957-ford-hardtop/ It should have a Y Block engine in it. You had to wait until '58 to get an FE or MEL big block. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1957_Ford Looks like AMT went with dragstrip version, that's cool! Regular Guy

Mark Always wondered about those rims! Thanks for the info! The Soap Box Derby Car is too small in the new picture. It's about the right size in picture Keyser posted. No big deal. Regular guy -

Mark It's just cool they left that there or used that version of boxtop, That picture posted here is NOT picture on Autoworld website. Those mags on Autoworld picture are Keystones, I ran a set for awhile, they were aluminum centers welded to steel rims. The word was, they would seperate on you, I never had a problem with mine. Keyser My apologies to poster of first post. Did look down listings before posting Regular Guy -
Builders http://round2corp.com/product/1968-el-camino-with-bonus-soap-box-derby-car/ This is on the Autoworld website. Looks like the packaging is targeted at the nostalgia market. The Soap Box Derby version is a hint there. The mags and the paint color choice and vinyl roof are the way a lot of them looked then. Might be an allusion but the rake of the car looks right too, Banner says Chevrolet's doing something for 'Youth of America', very cool! Wonder what the Soap Box Derby I kit was, probably a Ford Ranchero, Ford was still Number One then. Regular Guy

Lindberg Customizable Street Rod (2-Pack) News
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Mr Hall Good point about molded in color, I don't give it my 100% Nostalgia rating unless it's molded in color,:) I'd say the box is late 50's. In the last 2 or 3 years Round 2 has only put out one kit in the really old box, the AMT '49 Mercury. This kit is better, if it's an old kit put it in an old box! Regular Guy -

Paasche EZ STARTER Airbrush question

Snake45 found the wrench, it was inside spare bottle! So once you get spray nozzle off, you can get air nozzle off too? What's the spare bottle for? Appreciate it! Regular Guy -
Modelcar Builders This kit has been shown on Lindberg website http://round2corp.com/product/customizable-street-rod-2-pack/ This is 100% nostalgia approach The packaging is original and the subject matter is too Lindberg didn't 'play it safe' so it would sell to new audience They get high marks from me Regular Guy

Modelcar builders an online hobby store has this in the description: 'Build your choice of stock, custom or drag versions.' I think the solution is: order your kit to your spec's they could call it the 'Professional Modeler Series' Regular Guy

Modelcar Builders Does the Metallic blue version include the drag car parts? yes/no? Appreciate it! Regular Guy

Model Car Builders thanks for the responses I would have liked vintage box (early 60's) with the picture of the Ala Kart on it and the Ala Kart parts but unless AMT starts a custom order kit department that's probably not going to happen custom orders:choose your box and choose your parts thx

Model Car members does the current reissue Mod Rod '29 Ford Model A kit come with ALL the Ala-Kart parts? yes/no? Aporeciate it!
