AMT Hippie Hemi AMT 605 Mini Review
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
mr route 66 i feel like i'm telling you their is no Easter bunny. the AMT Hippie Hemi and it's sister model the Digger 'Cuda probably never existed in real life. so, no i don't think they would produce a new chassis for the Hippie Hemi. this was the height of the model companies power and they felt they could make models that they created. that's why the kits are pretty darn interesting. have a nice day! -
modeler's Fact Sheet: Copyright: 2008 Round 2 LLC Color Molded In: White Number of Parts: N/A Versions or Ways To Build In This Reissue:1 stock i got this about a year ago to have a 'complete set' Hippie Hemi and Digger 'Cuda dragster's. i guess you could include Infini-T and Stingaree but those are a little different. the one surprise was the 'clear' oil pan. the windows come in 3 colors of clear, well so do the oil pans! AMT gets smart points for that, once you have them running through production might as well make some neat features. the frame is an excellent example of the frame that came after the Dragmaster 4 tube type. kit is very well done! have a nice day!

New Lindberg Sportsman Class Racer's
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
2000 that rebel racer jpg. looks ok to me. i was saying that one of them was SMALL. you can go to any online model shop and see them. skip that was a big accomplishment back then. up to then some of the kits, cars boats airplanes would just look generally like what they were supposed to be. you can build all 4 and make a little oval track diorama! have a nice day! -
better model builders the Avanti was designed by Raymond Loewy. he also designed the '53 Starlite coupe. he ranks up there with Virgil Exner at Chrysler and Brooks Stevens who designed the Excalibur and was an industrial designer with many product designs that became iconic in 40's and 50's America. the Avanti's one interesting feature was a Paxton supercharger. be interesting to see if that's included in kit have a nice day!

New Lindberg Sportsman Class Racer's
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
mike modeler this is from Model Car Roundup's site. 'Part of a Dirtrack Racecars, Inc. Limited Production Series of Vintage Lindberg Super Modifieds from the 1960's.' i think the 'Super' part is a little off. being it's a DTRC production of a Lindberg kit, my statements about Lindberg quality are N/A here. don't know what DTRC quality is like. these look like fun little kits. have a nice day! -
New Lindberg Sportsman Class Racer's

mr most these are different. they're four individual kit's that just appeared on Megahobby and a couple other places. here's pic's of other three. the quality of my other Lindberg kits has been A1. i guess you're talking about lack of detail. i don't think they're supposed to precision kits for advanced builders. that's the new White Lightning that came out kind of small. have a nice day! -
better modeler's saw these at Megahobby. http://www.megahobby...6&page=2&sort=1 they're near bottom of page. they are not on Lindberg's official site, so who's putting them out? that's great using original box art! be interesting to see what the actual kit's are like inside. here's pic of one, there's 3 more versions available. have a nice day!

better model builders here's link to Round2 http://www.round2models.com/models/amt/63studebaker-avanti/amt780-01 now, that's interesting! somebody knows there classic cars over there. plus it's a 3 in 1. Stock, Custom and Race. those are the best AMT kits. in this case it's a Salt Flats race which wouldn't be my first choice. it can be worked around to road race or dragstrip. Have A Nice Day!

better model car builders the _ _ _ rod movement is a reaction to the loss of blue collar jobs in America. those kind of cars represent what it was like living in the 50's. those jobs had 'cradle to grave' security. i call them 'Laverne & Shirley' jobs, because they always clocked in at them at soda bottling plant. Have A Nice Day!

mark i'm editting previous answer. ( it was a wonderful day! ) i'm going with clothes pin glued to large wood 'tongue depressors' ( mixing sticks ). might put a little tack in them for good measure. you don't want to be around if clothes pin with part falls off! nice body painting stands you made there! Have A Nice Day!

better model builders here's pic of frame painted flat black. question: i've run out parts that can be spray painted using sprue for 'handle'. i like the Testor's 'reverse' tweezers. how do i keep the tweezers from getting painted? Have A Nice Day!

Better Model Builders those lincoln's were special, Ford lost money on those. engines were hand assembled and test run on a stand. not the usual get to the end of the assembly line and 'start it up and drive it off!'. what about the Revell/Monogram SSP reissue? are you saying that's 1/32? Have A Nice Day! -
Fiberglass Question
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
art yes, i am use cloth. i've found out 3/4 ounce is too thin. going to get 2 ounce and 5 ounce from Hobbylinc. i'll stick to epoxy resin. i have Great Planes Pro Epoxy Finishing Resin. it matches up 'drying times' wise with 60 minute Pro Epoxy generally. Have A Nice Day! -
better model builders which kind of epoxy resin works best? it's for 1/8 and 1/4 scale building. right now i'm using Great Planes Pro EPOXY Finishing Resin. Have A Nice Day!

regular guy replied to Kit Basher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
mr anderson just like 'The Matrix' in the subway scene climax of the movie. quote from book in pic. 'In 1962, when he was 35, it was Lee Iacocca's dream for Ford to dominate world motorsports.' under Henry Ford II. there's Jim Clark on cover. Have A Nice Day! -
Ford DOHC engine: what kits?
regular guy replied to Kit Basher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
basher here's quote from wikipedia for windsors fit's in with WHY Ford went racing. 'The Ford "Windsor" motor family is considered by performance enthusiasts to be one of the greatest[1] and most successful[2] engines produced by the Ford Motor Company. Introduced in 1962 as part of Ford's "Total Performance" era,[3] the Ford Windsor design succeeded the Ford Y-block engine family, rendering the latter obsolete for performance purposes.[4]' plus Edsel Ford was at the helm of Ford and he wanted Ford to go racing. here's pics of Jim Clarke being Jim Clarke. Have A Nice Day! basher want a rebuilt 392 with core engine and 5 T 18 tranny's? -
remember the AMT "Iron Horse" Mustang?
regular guy replied to 62rebel's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
rebel is this what you're building? if it is, i'm just curious. why did you buy a used kit? lots of AMT kits ended up at Lindberg. probably bought by lindberg from the time period after Ertl and before Round 2. -

Get This AMT Ford Kit
regular guy replied to regular guy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
mcm'ers this kit list 'stock, custom & advanced custom' parts the standard 3 in 1 AMT kits have stock, race & custom parts so this is a customizing kit. it's as 'advanced' as an AMT kit is going to get. then you're on your own with model putty and a putty modeling tool. plus custom grills and bumpers which they supplied in parts packs. styline parts may be same as advanced parts, probably close enough. Have A Nice Day! -
'08 Seal was kinda bummed there was no engine in Styline kit. i think he'd like this one better. Advanced Customizing Kit AMT 6003. it has an engine already. i think it's a Ford.

Don't get the AMT '61 Ford Galaxie
regular guy replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
seal you got the wrong kit. here's the one you were expecting. http://www.round2mod...0ford-starliner '60 Ford Starliner send it to me and i'll dispose of it for you. this kit has 2, count 'em 2 engines. i used to see the seals running along carrying telephone poles in Coronado. just thought of this. they probably don't say 'semper fi'. i think they're completely Navy . Have A Nice Day!
