  1. After finishing the Winnebago, I decided to make an Open Road camper. As nice as the Model King kit is, I have a great difficulty when it comes to building anything as it comes. The kit is an 11' camper so I decided to stretch it to a 15' camper, the Open Road Royale. I glued several sections of the side paneling together and cast it. I then connected several of the castings together and cast that. I was left with a large sheet of the side panel design. I glued the resin sides to .040 sheet styrene. From there, I cut out the camper shape. I then cut out all the detailing from the kit sides and glued them in the appropriate holes I cut in the sheet paneling. I am nearly done with the sides, and this is what I have so far. I tend to work on and off, so I'll update as I do something notable. I plan on using one of the Moebius Ford pickups for the cab section.
  2. Thank you all for your kind words. I appreciate it.
  3. The chassis started as Plastruct or Evergreen C channel. (Don't remember which, I had some lying around).
  4. After a few years, I finally finished this project. Everything is kitbashed or scratchbuilt. I need to find something new to focus on. Model is 1/25 scale. Boy, photos sure show flaws that aren't apparent in person. Well, my eyes aren't what they used to be.
  5. Douglas...before it was McDonnel Douglas (on fuel tank). Nice truck
  6. Does anyone offer a Ford 8N grille for the Heller Ferguson TE-20 tractor kit? I'd like to convert the kit to a Ford, and I want to know if I need to Scratchbuild the grille area.
  7. I feel your pain. This is why I'm not in a model car club.
  8. I just use any model compatible polishing products. They're made for model finishes anyway.
  9. In response to this post, I bought this product and tried it out, following the drying instructions. The results are superior to any other "chrome" treatment I've tried, including Revell. I used the enclosed clear over half the surface after the "chrome" had dried for three days. I can't see any real difference in the before and after, both sides look the same. There is no visible demarcation between the clear and not cleared side. This stuff looks great...very bright. Tests will continue.
  10. It might be too late now, but this area of the cab should have vents, which are on the PE fret.
  11. i have a 366 engine planned for it. Your suggestion does have some merit. Hmmmm.
  12. No 3D printing for me! I started with an MPC Chevy pickup plus the Ford LNT dump, and this is what I have so far.
  13. I had a knee replacement. Between rehab sessions, I hit the bench. I spent some time giving the Winnebago an interior. More is to be done, but the basics are there.
  14. The problem with the geese is, they multiply.
  15. I have quite a few figures from different sources, and I mix and match. I added .12 to the height of the son, the father is a mixture of mechanic figures (I think)
  16. What's the closest 1/24 0r 1/25 engine to a 1962 Olds 394? Is there a resin version?
  17. I might check it out. Only looks like a 2 hour drive at most.
  18. I wouldn't mind seeing a '68 and '69 LeMans front end. I wouldn't mind having a go at the '70 conversion. I'll be waiting! '71 and '72 were available from Missing Link not too long ago.
  19. It's getting warm again, so time to get back to this. Got some external painting done. Color is Tamiya Champagne. I think the "W" looks off, but it's correct for the period. Still bugs me a little, though.
  20. Nicely done. It's a 1966 Caddy, though.
  21. Thank you everyone for your kind words. I really appreciate it!
  22. That's one nice looking car!
  23. It just hit the market. I'm not sure of how they'll choose to market it.
