Can I ask what color the resin is? I realized all of my warp issues comes from 3D resin that is gray.

I have a friend who has printed several items for me, all excellent. I had some parts printed for a truck project, and they all curled up, too. I don't know why, and neither does he. I was able to force the parts straight by gluing them to a flat surface and casting them in resin. I just wonder if the 3D resin technology needs to catch up with the amazing fidelity these printers can achieve.

Love it! I like the Byrd Livery. I'm going to go with Jones Transfer. Your work is inspirational. I like this truck! -
Mack F-Model Byrd Motor Lines

Looks great! I just started one, myself. From what I can see, I prefer the interior in yours! Well, on to Under Glass! -
I purchased this 3D printed Mack 700. Like all too many 3D printed offerings, it was rubbery and began to curl up. I cut the top off because it was sinking. I'll replace it with styrene. The cab is very thick, and I imagine it will hold it's shape. The dash started to curl up, so I installed a length of piano wire to hold it straight. I've never had an issue with Too Many Projects cars, but my other 3D purchases run about 50/50 they'll be too soft and curl. Well, I want a Mack, so I'll just fix what I must. I wanted to use as little of the interior as possible, so I'm basing a new interior on the CO-4070A kit. The only 3D printed part I'll carry over in the interior is the dash portion. I only buy 3D printed stuff when I absolutely MUST have it. My models are all in climate controlled areas, so I don't know why I have this problem so often.

1973 Ford F250 4x4

Looks nice. The extra effort paid off. I notice you did the inner wheel wells aluminum. Many people miss that. I really like the hitch detail, and the cab gas tank is a nice touch. I really like the AMT kit, and yours looks great. I went a little different route with this one: -

Every time I looked at this model on the shelf, those cuts in the grille surround bothered me. I finally couldn't stand it anymore. I removed the cab and re-engineered the hinge point on the cab to allow a complete, unmolested grille. I made a new grille. The shifter still fits through the opening on the bottom of the cab. I lost the working lift pistons, but it was a small price to pay for a far more pleasing grille area. I'm much happier with it now. -

I did one very similar for a future CF project. I sanded it smooth to get rid of roof seams and added the rivets back.

Pics from IPMS Show in Fairmont MN

I scratchbuilt an International cowled school bus in 1/25. I entered it in a rather large IPMS show In Columbus, Ohio. There were only a few cars, but the military models were absolutely outstanding. Somehow, the bus won Best in Show. Considering the high quality of the competing models, and that mine was not military, I was stunned. To this day that trophy is my favorite. I guess you never know... -
1973 Ford F250
Repstock replied to bill lanfear's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
For this F-250, a gas tank in the cab is OK, but below F-250, the tanks were moved to under the bed. By mid year, most of the F-250 tanks had been moved as well. Heavy duty and chassis cab trucks kept the cab tank the longest. By 1974, all the tanks were out of the cab. Nothing wrong in this (very nice) build, just info for others who might build a model like this. -
six cab clearance lights is a little unusual.

The wheels are from Kevin Lutz (Missing Link Resin). The black areas on the hubcap are decals I drew up. The grille is just cobbled together from different extra parts I have. I'd like to do another, so I'm thinking of drawing the grille insert for 3D printing.

If you enter it in a show I guarantee there won't be one like it! very unique and well executed, not to mention convincing!

It was an experiment to see if I could make the JoHan and Revell bodies work together. What I learned on this was helpful when I attempted the Montego. I had no trouble with the conversion, but the paint on the body fought me to the end.

I may be wrong but aren't Police cars and taxis usually sedans? I don't think I've ever seen a police 4 door hardtop. -
I appreciate your comments. Thank you. Model making is kind of a solitary hobby, and the "pats on the back" from this forum helps keep me motivated. I don't always express appreciation because the thread becomes more of a mutual admiration thread (nothing wrong with that) than informative. I do notice and appreciate the comments.

I drew everything in 2D on Autocad. Others converted my drawings to 3D and printed them.
