Dodge Cabover
Repstock replied to Repstock's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That is very, very helpful. Thank You! If you have more, that would be great, but this is a great help!!! Got any pics of the one you built? My cab will include the sleeper. -
I'm going to build a Dodge cabover similar to the truck pictured. I know it's available in resin, but that's part of the challenge. I have references that show in detail everything but the roof. Were there any seams or rivets up there? Whatever detail is on the roof, I'd like to reproduce it. I've got enough to get started, but I'd like that roof info if I can get it. Thanks!

Louisville grille and surround are not the same parts from Louisville to W. They do not interchange on the real trucks. The number of openings on the grille are not the same. The dimensions are also not the same. However, if you did swap one for the other, I doubt too many people would notice. Actually, never mind. I see someone else has brought this up. -
I got paid 3 Cougars for my work. The rest belong to Paul.

It might be time to change that air filter... -

Diecasts usually roll, and the prices of some indicate that they are not toys...well, for kids at least:)

Everything I've ever built with wheels roll. Even my airliners. I've always done it, and at this age i see no reason to stop.

Looks nice...Well worth doing! -
John Sharisky, I was made aware of your Facebook posting looking for casters for this Olds project. Whatever the outcome, that means a lot to me, thank you! I have a caster for the 1972 Montego GT if I can ever get the final 3D work done on the rear bumper and taillights. I have no plans to master anymore after these, though.
-
This is the future. Because of the proliferation of 3D cars, my caster doesn't think this has a market (I'm not sure I do, either), and the project is dead. Guess I'll build it myself. My final master, the 1972 Montego GT is in danger as well.

Just finished my first diorama! Asbury, NJ streets!

I fill the corners just like any other model...fill, sand, paint. Next time I hope the paint matches better. Your painting skills seem quite advanced, I'm sure your end result will be better than mine. -

The same as you, only smooth brick. I do have a sheet of styrene bricks that are much sharper and have greater relief. I'm hoping to have the sheet cast for future use(es). -

I was hoping to do something similar. I've been building things, but I may never have the room to actually build a diorama. Your has been very inspirational. It looks very natural. -

Looks like I can build mine, now. Those who wanted my master cast can now (soon) purchase yours. Nice to see this void filled. -

You'd have to scribe some things deeper, but there's a lot of potential. Looks good! Like you say, what things are off are from printing, not the drawing. -

It may be too late, but if you thicken up the vertical part of the "F", I'd say there's no more to add. -

I used to have tons of pics of a WT1000 in a nearby junkyard, but that computer crashed, and all was lost. Now the truck is gone. Maybe this will help? Letters need to be bulkier. -

The C600 cab would need to be modified. If you don't, the H specific part will not have the correct proportions. -

The FORD lettering seems a bit off, and to a lesser degree the cut-ins for the turn signals. Outside of that, she looks ready to roll!
