Revell S.E 1/25 1968 Dodge Charger R/T (Hemified).
freakshow12 replied to BMX Addicts's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That's how it's done. Just give the cleared body a few days to harden up. Those windows in that kit can be tricky. I use small pieces of tape inside to hold window in position then a dab of glue here and there. Once dry remove tape and add a bit more glue. Hard to explain easier to do lol- 125 replies

project SUPER bee. a mean street car WIP* aug 24. DONE!
freakshow12 replied to freakshow12's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Underhood is all in primer. I can't paint till I get engine/ blower sorted out. Wheels should be here may 1st ish. Can't wait. I don't want to fiddle with suspension any more until the wheels/ tires come in case I have to make adjustments. Next is subframe connectors and cal trac bars along with a driveshaft loop -
project SUPER bee. a mean street car WIP* aug 24. DONE!
freakshow12 replied to freakshow12's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well I made some progress. Mini tubs are done and primed, took out the battery and smoothed that side of engine bay. I may need the room over there for my procharger. I also hated the molded in washer tank so I smoothed that out and will use one from a 69 charger. Wiper motor looked weak so it's gone and a charger unit will go in -

Guess I am going to have to show some of you guys how to wire kit distributors. Pre wired units look terrible IMHO. I wire mine to match firing order and everything.- 125 replies

On my builds I do full mock up, body work paint clear polish then foil then windows then assemble. Usually my bodies sit at least 10 days to cure up good. That's what blows my mind how you guys can do a build a week! Lol. Mine take months sometimes years- 125 replies

Wheel/Tire Combo & Stance
freakshow12 replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I put a great deal of time into getting stance. By the comments on my stuff many of you have noticed and complimented me. Thanks : ). I will go to the work of a mini tub or frame alteration to make it as realistic as possible too. I also try and pick wheel tire choices that can work. Jam a 20 in an un altered fender that had 14s? How would you get the tire off? Lol. -

freakshow12 replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
What all that did was move in wheels 3mm without major wheel well surgery. It sounds like alot of work but it's not and it will nail the look. I do this lots. And by working on inside edge of wheel you won't notice it on finished car Make sense? -

freakshow12 replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ok. Measure how much the wheel sticks out past the fender, let's say it's 3mm. Take tire off rim and cut that 3 mm off the back of it. Then cut same 3 mm out of tire but start in from sidewall. Once you have that strip out of tire put it all back together. THEN nip the same 3mm off rear axle ends and drill the wheel mount holes deeper to make up what you cut off -

I think I have a solution to your wheel problem without cutting the detailed chassis. post a pic of a rear wheel please -
that is pretty slick. what are the wheels from?

freakshow12 replied to Kennyboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ken, could you put a pic up for me of the rear wheel in the wheel well from the bottom. like that upside down chassis shot but with the rear wheel on. I think I have a solution to get the wheel tucked without any chassis mods. btw here is my dad in our 40th -
68-9 barracuda notchback?
freakshow12 replied to freakshow12's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
thanks. I will check that out. -
thanks alot. I think the engine is humbrol black with aluminum heads. some may notice a trend in my builds that I firmly believe all real cars have 3 pedals in the footwell. no automatics here. not in street cars anyway. lol
-
keep at it. I just did one of these builds at easter. show friday morning and I sat at the bench at 5 thurdsday night and wrapped up at 10 friday morning. then drove 100 miles to the show. why do we punish ourselves? I would be awful cranky if work required me to do that. but I will do anything for this hobby LOL

That's different. Never offered tan In the shelby. Maybe they should have. I like it

Could you trim the back some where you won't see it. They really don't put alot of tire on these cars. That's how they get them low and fit 20s I think -
What color is the inside? I think it should be red or orangy red. Is that a word? Lol

I think it's gonna be killer John! A high tech lo tech stainless woody! It's genius. I always pass by the woody kits cause they are not my thing, till now! Great work
