I like what you've done. I've always wanted to try water but been afraid of it. Going to have to get my feet wet someday.

My wife tells me that the materiale i user is called Tulle. The smallest amount i could get was 1/8 of a yard, it will last forever.

I wanted to replicate security glass in the shop door. So I went to Hobby Lobby and got some lace type material and and applied it with Microscale clear gloss.

Thanks for the kind comments. It's amazing to me that dioramas never seem to be done. There's always one more thing to add.

Well done! Very impressive model. Thanks for sharing. -
Started on the interior of the gas station. I hadn't intended to get this involved, but it seems to have developed a life of its own. Your thoughts....

Time for an update. My time at the bench has been spuratic lately. This is where I'm at. The siding is done. The garage doors and entry doors are installed. The roof and the island are my next projects. Comments are welcome. It helps me see where I can improve or what just looks wonky to the average eye. Thanks for looking.

I have a niece who is bilingual. At the age of 4 she was not able to say my name, Paul. She always called me Uncle Potts. It stuck. So now everyone in her family call me Uncle Potts now.

One thing I have done to help with my dioramas is to find an actual car or truck that has been abandoned and study it. If that's not available to you look up pictures on the internet. It's the small details that help achieve a realistic look.

Rich, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Eshaver is correct they are gearbox collectables. My wife bought them for me several years ago. I do not know where, and she can't remember. I have seen them on EBay. As far as accuracy in scale i don't know, but they work for me for what i want to do. Hope that helps.

I just finished remodeling my bathroom last year. The decor was based around a Texaco Fire Chief sign I've had for the last 40 years. As the last part of the decor I wanted a diorama of a Texaco Gas Station. Here is the concept.

Very nice, unusual project. I like it, I'll be watching. -
I'm back after being gone for gone for almost a year. After hip surgery, 2 knee surgerys and shoulder surgery in 3 years, my sweetie was diagnosed wih Parkinsons. The surgerys required a career change on my part, and the Parkinsons required a total life style change for my wife. This created a big change in our lives, it left little time for hobbies. Things have started to calm down some, but things will never be the same. Priorities tend to change when these things happen. I know I sound like I'm complaining, but thats not my intent. I still have the best wife a person could want, even with her illness. But my time that I need to spend with her is more than what I would have needed to a year ago, but it is worth it. I will be around some but the hobby is now less important than it used to be. Maybe some day in the future I'll have something off the workbench to share again, hopefully soon. Paul

Another job well done, Harry. I love watching your builds, they are always quality builds. Sorry to hear about your health problems. I hope they, the doctors, are able to figure it out soon. -

Wait till I tell the Mrs that I need to start buying donuts at the Wal-mart, for my models, she already hates my hobby, this won't help.
