  1. I really think there needs to be an ISO standard for model kit boxes. AMT and Revell boxes are currently the same width and depth but the Revell boxes are just a little bit taller. My storage shelves currently can hold four Revell boxes or five AMT boxes. Now, however, AMT has decided to start issuing some kits in really oddly shaped boxes (76 Gremlin, Opel GT, 40 Ford panel) that just don't jive with the rest of the line. Revell also had the one-piece donut style boxes as well as the larger single-kit boxes and the super-sized ensemble kit boxes (tow vehicle, trailer, and boat, etc). I understand that sometimes a bigger kit might need a bigger box, but when the same kit is released in different sized boxes, it really makes me scratch my head. And don't get me started on Lindberg's Charger Super Bee box... *grump*
  2. JBOT Decals makes a set: http://www.jbot.ca/cars/us/usfr.shtml I put them on a '78 Dodge ...not knowing the truck was supposed to be green.
  3. I finally remembered to dig out the old built-up prostreet Nova I have; it has a blown Hemi in it! Don't think the kit came that way...
  4. I do indeed! Didn't know about that kit until I started digging more!
  5. Here's a little Internet tip: If you feel offended by something someone else posts, remember two simple rules: (1) It's not about you. (2) If you try to make it about you, you'll sound ridiculous. --Uncle George (Takei)
  6. After more digging, I found another Blazer kit (Mudslinger). Can't find any other Stomper kits. Found everything I needed for that tan pickup at the top, now I just need more info on the blue truck!
  7. I'll leave the vans to Casey, they're more his bailiwick.
  8. So here are some examples of what happens with loose tires, mid-70s MPC plastic, and time: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-72-Dodge-Adventurer-SE-Baja-Brute-Truck-w-Original-Box-Instructions-/200925068443?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2ec8113c9b http://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-73-Dodge-Pick-Up-Truck-w-Original-Box-Instructions-/200925071996?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2ec8114a7c
  9. Snow Patrol is the Revell kit. I'm working on the Revell history article right now; there are a couple kits I have next to no information on, may have to just post it up anyway!
  10. How about something a bit different? The AMT 59 El Camino would make a good surf rod. Maybe try and up the detail with a Revell 60 Impala?
  11. There are a lot of pickups around here as well, along with most other places in Canada I've visited. But then again, I've only been to mining towns!
  12. I have seen kits from various manufacturers with the spelling dooley, dualie, and duallie, but there never seems to be a consensus. Wiktionary only has a listing for dualie with one 'l' but I usually see/use dually the most. Thoughts?
  13. I always love finding new data! An original issue Blazer just popped up on eBay (clicky) and it shows that even in the first issue the door handles were mini and the wheels are actually 6-bolt!
  14. Not sure why that link didn't work, but anyway I saved it an uploaded it to my Picasa: This was actually one of my first models.
  15. Wait wait....you mean to tell me you were using that shelving rack as a work bench? Yikes!
  16. There are also apparently a bunch of Revell twin packs that were released for K-mart, I think it was? I know of these: http://www.firebirdtoys.com/firebirdmodels/MVC-001F.jpg http://www.firebirdtoys.com/firebirdmodels/6252.jpg http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mFztrv79_ngMJJ7OyYMsCVQ.jpg No idea how many there were...
  17. Took a look through the Ford trucks and vans section, noticed a couple F-150s you are missing. http://shop.jbarhobbies.com/images/1337040916574-1587961382.jpeg http://www.jimnohio.com/images13/90'sF150_Snap_AMT.jpg Couple Galaxies... http://i.ebayimg.com/t/AMT-1966-Ford-Galaxie-28-Fred-Lorenzen-Decals-/00/s/MTA2NVgxNjAw/$(KGrHqV,!o8FBk(w(HlYBQiYkF36dw~~60_57.JPG http://www.modelroundup.com/v/vspfiles/photos/AMT-31546-2.jpg
  18. This was on an episode of Counting Cars; claimed 1300 HP or something crazy like that.
  19. Too bad that "Bronco" is a Ramcharger....
  20. Photobucket is the only image-sharing site that my work DOES block; Picasa, Fotki, and Flickr are all fine. I really should start looking through these galleries when I'm home; I may end up replacing the images I have in my history articles with yours as they appear to be much more uniform and of better quality.
  21. The opening bid should be priced accordingly, then. Most of the time when I receive parcels the box is something the seller had lying around and the shipping materials are old newspapers; doesn't exactly break the bank!
  22. I just wish I could browse through these when I have spare time: at work!
  23. That website is the only place I could find a picture of the tan Chevy 4x4 Pickup. The Stomper kits have the same rims as the regular glue kits, again suggesting some common components.
