  1. Excellent paint work as usual Bob , definitely the nicest one I've ever seen . I also have this kit still in it's box . I purchased it more for sentimental reasons but may take another look at it after seeing yours built !
  2. Thanks very much Bob ! Not so casual with this one . . . it was in and out of the box half a dozen times over 6 or 7 years . I'd try doing a little bit , give up , and put it back in the box . And yes it would have sold very well ! Dave Deal had several kits drawn and submitted that were never produced .
  3. Great build Michael ! And I like your solution for a stock body , gonna make a note of that !
  4. Thanks Chris ! Thanks Bob ! Thanks Bob ! If using the short wheelbase front fenders the Multi-Mav body is the same as the hard to find Jo-Han body , even the grille and bumpers are the same . I have a Jo-Han kit but "NO WAY" was I going to chop it into pieces for this build !
  5. Thanks Larry ! Thanks Anthony ! Thanks Bill !
  6. Thanks Matt ! Thanks Michael ! The M/T and LA Hooker cars would be cool to build . I had a Cougar so I used those parts but any other kit would work . Thanks Gerald ! The Multi-Maverick is the same kit and can be had for $20-30 bucks . Thank you !
  7. Thanks much Chris ! Thanks Kyle ! Thanks very much Dave ! Very cool pic !
  8. This 1/25th scale Mean Maverick uses a Multi-Maverick body and an AMT Cougar Funny Car Chassis , also the wheels/tires , headers , valve covers , and various other parts were sourced from other kits . The Multi-Maverick body has been heavily modified to match the original Mean Maverick . After studying photos of the Mean Maverick I came to realize that it's not even close to a stock Maverick body , in fact the only areas that weren't modified are the rear window and the trunk lid (although the twin spoilers were added to the trunk ). It was much more work than expected ! Paint is Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange and the chassis is Testors Purplelicious , and I printed my own decals using a darker purple for the stripes to match the chassis . I also tinted the windows purple by spraying them first with Tamiya Clear Red then with Clear Blue . The finished body was cleared with TS-13 . Thanks for lookin' !
  9. One of my favorites ! Beautiful work Bob ! I still have the resin parts to convert a stock Tweedy Pie plus one of the new Atlantis kits , maybe one day I'll build one of them .
  10. Hah ! Thanks Bob ! Those are Chuck's builds but I did the composite and added the graphics for Chuck to use as a Desktop Background , thanks for posting it and I'm glad you liked it enough to save it ! As for "Speed Shift" . . . Atlantis once said they had all 3 then that they only had 2 . . . last I heard is they aren't sure (?) and there may be some molds still at Revell that haven't been shipped . That seems unlikely after all this time but who knows .
  11. Thanks Bill ! Thanks much Tony ! Thanks Larry !
  12. That's really sharp , excellent work Bill ! By the way "Heart Like A Wheel" is a great movie .
  13. This is the Atlantis reissue of the Stanley Mouse kit , it has zero flash and the parts fit together with very little sanding needed to hide the seams . Brush painted with craft paints with some decals for tatoos , I added a few extra details then sprayed it with DullCote . I rarely build any type of figure so this was a nice change of pace . Thanks for lookin' !
  14. Guess I'm the exception here because I actually have photos of my first car , a 1969 Torino 428 Cobra Jet . When I saw a new one a few years earlier I started saving every dollar from a job as a janitor at night and pumping gas after school making $1.15/hour . In early '72 I bought this while I was still 16 (I turned 17 in Oct. '72). Needless to say my Dad wasn't too thrilled with my purchase and I had to sell it a year later . The owner of the gas station had been racing at a local strip for a couple of years and said I should give it a try . Here we are loaded and ready for my first trip to the drag strip .
  15. You don't want mig wire . . . find some aluminum tig welding rod . I recently bought some 1/32 - 1/16 - and 3/32 rod at an older Ace Hardware , the newer stores don't carry it . Or ask at a local metal shop that welds aluminum , I've been able to get a few lengths this way in the past .
  16. This Deal's Wheels Never Was is built using the Entex 1/32 Snap Kit . After converting the body from the Targa to a Carrera I added a resin driver cast from Bug Bomb parts and resin cast tires . The front wheels are resin and the rears are 3D printed , all modified to fit the tires . Also added are fabbed driving lights and the engine vents . It's painted Tamiya Bright Red with my own printed decals . A Porsche Deal's Wheels kit was planned by Dave Deal but unfortunately it never made it past the prototype stage . . . too bad .
  17. Beautifully done , that's a really sharp looking race car !
  18. Great collection Ludwig , very well done !! . . . but no '68 ?!?
  19. Well done Elliot , great looking Vette ! This is actually my favorite Vette kit even tho' many don't care for it . I built the kit back in 70's and still have it as one of my survivors , I also have another NIB and plan on building it one day .
