Just got the latest issue of Model Cars mag, and was happy to see, on page 9, we can now get a '73 AMC Hornet Sportabout wagon! Couple of b & w pics, but it looks pretty good. Thanks to Gregg for sticking that in there, I'm gonna order one!
Nice looking custom. Paint came out great! I've always been afraid of Rustoleum products. In the past, I have had trouble getting it to dry to a hard finish. How was it working with this clearcoat?
I like it! Looks like a cool old '60's build you'd see in Model Car Science. I can think of a 1:1 show car that became a funny car......the Dodge Charger III body was used for the Flying Dutchman FC.
Very nice. Before I read the description, I looked at the pics and wondered "Where'd he get one of these already?" Thought about the old Mod Squad deal. This one came out very convincing.
Looks great! Nice paint! Since you mention it, I don't recall ever seeing many of these in black either. For my kit, I'm waiting to hopefully find the 4 door hardtop resin that somebody did a while back.
The flash is due to it being an old mold with many of re-issue miles on it! Looks very cool, Jim. I love the color and the steelies/dog dishes and white walls.
Nice build, and I can appreciate the amount of work that went into it. Great door lines and nice handles! But the last year for the 4 door hardtop Breezeway was '64. 65-6 the 4 door hardtop used the formal roofline. You could however, get a 4 door sedan Breezeway. The roof was a bit different than the earlier design, as evidenced in this photo. It would be an easy fix on your model. But then again, it's cool the way it is and most folks would never know.
