Thanks guys. I think I found my answer. While searching ebay again I found a set of 4 PE wire wheels complete with tires. Only about 22 bucks with shipping. Just waiting for a reply about size before I order.

Thanks Carl and yes I searched ebay as wrll as the web. I worked on the stockers and did noit have any luck. The bmf idea while good just can't be done well. I painted them black and then used a silver sharpie and that doesn't look good either. I just don't believe anything will help these things. I may finish this project up to the time I have to mount the wheels and hold of on finishing till I find something that will look better.

10 bucks is nothing but the wheels and tires i found are about 25 bucks a pair and 10 bucks for shipping. That's 60 bucks ! I would love to make some wires myself but I don't have the talent for that.

When I had my Harley I must admit one of the first things I did was to change the pipes. I just liked the sound. It would be interesting to know if the bikers that do get hit by cars had loud or stock pipes on their scoot. Do loud pipes make you safer or just loud ? I always thought I was a bit safer with the louder pipes.

Thanks guys. Rich, I thought about BMF and I may give it a try. I think I may be chasing my tail and there may be no hope of getting these to look anything but bad. There are some beautiful aftermarket wire wheels out there but I just can't see myself paying the asking price for what I found. 65 bucks or so with shipping ???? Six time s the cost of the kit ??? I don't think so.

Thanks guys. Those wire wheels are beautiful but I just can't justify the cost for a 10 dollar model. I will keep looking for some kind of replacement as I build because these stock ones very lame.

You may have seen my current build in the "on workbench " section. I am dealing with a kit with plastic tires and clear wheel discs to simulate wire wheels. I want to keep this build box stock but I am not sure how to deal with these clear discs. It has been recomended to try and lace up something myself or a photo etched item or source something better from another kit. All good ideas and I may look into something along those lines but was wondering if these things can be improved upon with some detailing of some sort. Any ideas short of replacing them ? Thanks guys.

Thanks guys. Bill, thanks for the links. Those builds are very nice and I can only imagine mine looking anywhere near that nice. Building it with only the kit parts will insure it doesn't look that good. The worst part of the kit has got to be the way they handled the wire wheels. Without going to the aftermarket for a set of nice wheels and tires this will look very toy like. I just can't justify 50 bucks or so for a nice set.

What irks me about the loud stereos is that it is usually crappy music and a lot of times they sound like they bought the speakers at the 99 cent store.
