Overhaulin' returns to Velocity
dirtracer2448 replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Recently watched a rerun of the new season premier and I noticed something's different. It's not the cast or the opening, which both have changed, but its the way the show feels like it is scripted, just like Chip's wd40 commercials. Being an overhaulin fan, I still remember the old shows and the new ones are way different. I like Jessie, but I miss Courtney and I don't find Chris irritating at all, though I can understand why some might. Fortunately for me, they have started airing reruns on discovery channel as well as a new episode on tonight. I don't know if they will air every Monday but I hope they will. -
I say use the kit tires in back while using the tires that came with the wheels up front, give it more of a (not really) raked look

Why not do a belt driven distributor? Awesome work so far!

It's been a while since my last update and I have slowly been working on the door and trunk gaps as well as filling in the sink holes and getting rid of the molding lines
-
Thanks, I'm trying to challenge myself and good luck to you on your dart project

This one is going to take a while and I'm open to any criticism and suggestions as I'm kinda new to modeling and this will be my first detailed model.
-
Thanks for the tip Mike but unfortunately I don't have a spare body. I did however open up the passenger side door with less problems than the deck lid and I didn't break anything! I do still need to fine tune and clean up the gap.

I have had this kit for a while and decided to do a detailed version of it and as a tribute to Carroll Shelby. I started today by opening up the deck lid. Before I open up the doors, I would like suggestions from you guys on the easiest way to do it because I am using the exacto knife shown and it takes a while.

First of all, great ideas. I like the viper wagon, but I can't tell the difference about the vette, or the 70's charger/roadrunner but I do like it. Also, the 300c magnum wagon has been done before on overhaulin. They just swapped the front end and it turned out pretty nice. http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&source=mog&hl=en&gl=us&client=safari&tab=wi&q=overhaulin%20wagon&sa=N&biw=480&bih=210#i=10 You should build some of these ideas.

Buick Grand National Dual-build, '85 and '87
dirtracer2448 replied to Chief Joseph's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hey Joseph, its good to see someone else building this kit. My build is depicting what i want my actual car to look like, but its a regal. Anyway, great job so far and i wont be needing all of my parts so if you need any just let me know. -
Jason, love those wheels. Where did you get them from?
-
Let me start off by saying that Snake Fink turned out AWESOME! Don, the dragster, the detail, everything turned out great! You have inspired me to build a "cartoon" of my own and if you had any tips or tricks I would greatly appreciate it.

I am in the middle of disassembly but i dont have any pictures to show due to the lack of a camera and my phone not working. But i can tell you that during the process, i discovered that when i first built this, i broke off the trim that went along the windshield, glued the door panels on the wrong side (backwards) and along with glueing it in the wrong spot, i also broke one of the interior panels that is needed for the roadster. I forgot to mention that this kit is a 3 in 1 kit that can be made into a coupe, roadster, or convertible in which I will be building the roadster. i will try and get the pics posted asap.

This is the first model car i have ever done. My grandfather and i built it together (even though unfinished) when i was 6 and it sat in a drawer for nearly 11 years untill i found it recently and decided to finish/redo it. It is a 1:32 1963 ford thunderbird and it lacks some detail in which im going to add some but not all. Ex: the hood doesnt open and there is no motor or any drivetrain.

dirtracer2448 replied to Ira's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Ira,I know this is off topic, but Im new to model car building and im wondering what type of body filler you use along with what it is used for (seams, body mods, etc.) Awesome models by the way! -
Body building! And I don't mean weight lifting

What do I use for custom body mods? Isn't it some type of body filler? -
