  1. Great job!! I finally picked up one of these kits, that I planned to make a hatchback out of, to copy my 1:1 car. After seeing what you have done here, I'll probably just wait until it's ready to go and buy one of the resins. If you think you'll be able to get a hatch version done, I will ABSOLUTELY wait for it!!
  2. Any updates on the model?
  3. Ok Dave, I know this wasn't in your original plans, but how much cooler would this Camaro be if you built the engine like this?!! C'mon, I know you can do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53Xww-J3igE&feature=related
  4. That looks fantastic!! Does Mike Hill know that you're building this? I'm sure he would love to see all of this if he isn't watching it already.
  5. That's a plumbing nightmare on the full scale version. I can't even imagine what it's going to be like in 1/8th scale.
  6. I was anxious to see what you were going to do with the intake. Nice work!!
  7. Thanks, I appreciate it. I haven't even touched the surface of this site yet, but what I've seen so far has been amazing. I'm looking forward to learning more things for sure.
  8. Thanks for the kind words guys. Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to sit my model on the intake manifold of my 1:1 version at a show. I'm sure I'd get some questions from that.
  9. The K member/motor mounts and rear end were from the Mustang, but the chassis/frame rails was still the truck. If I remember correctly, I used the rear springs from the truck model and modified them to become a coil over front spring. I had to work on the stance of everything before I did any final fitment of the pieces, but in the back, I just made some mounts for the upper and lower control arms to attach to and glued them in place.
  10. The reason why I said that though is because I painted the underside of the cab black, but didn't match the bed to it. Oh well though, there's always next time. Here are a few shots that I took while I was putting it together.
  11. Thanks. This was my first attempt at doing any real modifications to a model and the first model I had built in several years. Overall I was happy with how it turned out (although I didn't see it until I was done that the underside of the bed should have been black too). For the paint, I just used a Testor's copper spray paint for the base, then used my airbrush and sprayed 3 coats of House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine, then a clear coat over that.
  12. That's my opinion anyway. I came up with the idea for this truck back in '98 and would still love to actually build one. With many other projects in the way though, it won't be happening any time soon. Anyway, I built this truck a few years ago now but just found this forum not too long ago and have been amazed at some of the stuff I've seen. I hope you guys enjoy it.
  13. Every time I come in here and see the new updates I can't help but get a smile on my face.
  14. Amazing job!! I look forward to seeing the updates as it progresses.
