  1. I had the exact same thing happen with the spring on my build. Instead I used a vertical piece of sprue with a bit of rubber on it (O rings or similar) to simulate air-bag suspension. In fact, I had the problem on my second build too - a faulty molding in that case. I glued a small piece of sprue onto the chassis and filed it into shape.
  2. I'm thinking we should just consolidate over at the TZH build. As Eelco says, these builds are practically the same, and that build is so much more active.
  3. I'd think giving it a once over with some fine sandpaper would help it, then give it another wash to get rid of any salt that is still trapped.
  4. Daily update. The first view of the Dodge, Progress on "Post aChopalyptica". I think I'm near the point where I need to get serious with paint. The build is starting to look suspiciously near complete.
  5. John. Where does the driver hide?
  6. The barrel even rotates. http://minifigworld.com/products/Gatling-Minigun.html
  7. Valentine free zone. More time for model cars!
  8. There will be some of us with a higher rank than general, in that case! I've seem some builders here with 5+ vehicles. On the other hand, I'm at negative one. I built one for the enemy, after all! (Working on correcting that imbalance).
  9. Buy some K&S aluminum tubing. Heat it with a candle or cigarette lighter where you need to bend it. You can then bend it to the shape you want. 1) You don't need to bend it while it is hot. The heating anneals it, leaving it soft enough to bend. Reheat for further bends. 2) try heating the end bit first as a test. There is no visual clue as to how hot the aluminum gets. It will MELT before it glows. 3) K&S used to sell a brass 1/8" "Fuel Line" too, from the same stand. That is already annealed. 4) Warning: heated metal is hot!
  10. What are you goind to do with all the unwanted soldiers? I derped. They weren't what I wanted for my cars, so I left them behind. Would have been perfect for my Fallout ponies though.
  11. But that IS what a mad genius does! It is also how many so called engineers/experts arrive at their conclusions.
  12. Latest state of the bladed one. And below is a sketch of a PA model I was building 20 years ago. It never got finished. I no longer have it.
  13. Try searching for "weapons". Search box is up in the top right. Here's a repeat of my post on the subject: Lego Minifig weapons and 1/18th scale action figure weapons can be used to some extent. Being toys, their scale is somewhat variable. Sometimes you can find them in 1/25 too, in car kits. I saw an aftermarket set a couple days back, but don't recall where. http://minifigworld.com/ http://www.marauderi...vlet/StoreFront
  14. So it was you that started the Zombie outbreak?
  15. Due to the somewhat extreme lack of eye candy today, I present the current state of my VW, and a couple of fisheye shots of the merc.
  16. And in the morning he discovers a bag full of rust powder, and no car....
  17. The little "travel wheels"? Real life monster trucks looks so inadequate when they are on their travel wheels! It looks like you won't have any trouble fitting them to your build.
  18. Here's my final build pics for this thing. Name (for lack of anything more imaginative) : Zombie car. The story behind this thing is that some poor guy got shot in the head and his body was stuffed in the trunk of a convenient wreck. His zombified remains have grown through into the cabin, and pretty much through the rest of the car, becoming one with it. As such the car has become the zombie, and he ain't happy! Modifications have been made as opportunity arose, him ripping parts from other cars, and upgrading himself, and so on. There is no radiator. There was no radiator in my concept sketch either. I wanted a nice big maw at the front. Interior shot, or use the interior shot from when the interior wasn't in the car, if you want to see more of the details. This shot shows the lining hanging from the roof, while the other doesn't. And yup, that's the driver in there!
  19. Actually, I like the amount of chipping you are showing here. It looks rather like the real rust I had forming on my real-life tow-bar brackets.
  20. That is them. The wheels on those things are huge! Exactly. You can see them on my photo of my 1/25 car.
  21. Well... he has teeth, so I guess he isn't on the side of the Zombies..... I think.
  22. Just look for "HOT WHEELS MONSTER JAM TRUCK" on ebay or something. Quite a few of us are using them. Apparently I failed to make this clear. The photo below is of my 1:25 car wearing Hotwheels 1:64 monster truck wheels.
  23. Looking at a video that Dr Cranky posted a day or two ago, it seems there are two levels of "entry" into this. 1) build a car and send it to Dr Cranky for the group photos. Maximum, 1 car per builder, vehicle can either be donated or you can pay return postage to get it back. 2) build a car and share the photos, but keep the car at home. As such, you have already entered!
  24. Exploding Garlits car http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26214
  25. It would seem I am being successful then. It is also creeping me out! Watch out for that zombie! And next comes rust and more gore.
