What will I need to complete this model?
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've been looking around online at this kit, seems the '62 Bel Air is a ideal match for the glass... also, Hobbylinc has this at 20% off right now, so I know where I will be ordering it from! Thanks, Guys..... -
56 Ford f100 engine?
JollySipper replied to 426 pack's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Could you put an AMT '53 pickup grille on it? Then you could use your flathead and be closer to date correct...... -
BB Chevy Engine Question

Hows 'bout the super charger from one of the Revell '57 Ford wagon gasser kits? I have those parts here, but no instructions as to how to put it together.... I believe it would fit under the hood, and could be adapted to fit what ever engine....... -

What will I need to complete this model?
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thank you, Fellows...... I have the glass from the '61 Lindberg Impala, if that fits, or I can coax it into fitting, I'm a set of Pegasus wheels away from a cool mild custom...... Astros, bellflowers, etc....... -
Hey, Guys...... I was looking at this casting by Flintstone on Model Roundup. It says it pretty much comes with everything but wheels and glass. The Catalina from AMT is suggested to use for a donor. Is that to just get glass and other miscellaneous bits? I will probably just build this as a curb-side and would hate to buy an entire kit just to borrow the clear parts from it....... http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/jim-nb42.htm Thanks for any help! This may become my first resin project.

BB Chevy Engine Question

Hey, Snake.... you said you would maybe use fuel injection, how about Tuned Port? I believe it was getting popular in the early '80s........ I have a TPI set-up from a Monogram kit that's chrome if you want to that route........... -

Snake bites? Sounds about right! The Rattle Snakes do get pretty large here............. Actually NC is famous for being the first state to cede from the Union, and the last to rejoin after the Civil War, if I'm remembering correctly (I hope that's read as just History................)

Pro Touring chassis donor?
JollySipper replied to Dirty Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There are a few of the Lindberg kits that have the same chassis as the one in Bill's post above.... Dave, I have the Mustang II front suspension from the Revell '37 Ford if you'd like to go that route. It used to be a pretty common swap.......... -
Tom, have you ever been down to NC? There are people here that talk still like that letter reads! The hardships the author was facing sounds like they didn't have time for a proper education....... too busy trying to survive on a farm.

Any body watching Barrett-Jackson ?
JollySipper replied to D. Battista's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I haven't been watching it, but I was looking at cars on Craigslist in Arizona...... evidently guys are turning to it to sell cars they brought to sell at the auction. Saw a '69 Charger 500 that a guy was asking $155K for. Also a '66 Hemi Coronet sedan for about $80K........... -
Most of my builds only last about 2 or 3 years before I either find the need for parts from it, or try to improve them somehow and do more damage than good........ My modeling "resolution" this year was to not tear into built models any more.

This Porsche from Tamiya is the very first model car that I showed on the site. I'm surprised that I still have it, as that was almost 6 years ago....... Just a simple curb-side kit that most of you are familiar with.... Any of you guys care to show some of your work from your early days on the forum? It's always fun to look back and see how your skills have changed............

I've got the chassis pretty much finished...... With it and the interior done, all I really have left is to paint the body, then it's assembly time! I need to decide if I want to run the kit's headers, or a pair of wrapped headers from a nascar kit........ Thanks for looking, and all comments are welcome

The dove as a symbol of "peace", or on the menu?
JollySipper replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
The meanest birds we have here are the Mockingbirds..... They are very territorial, and will chase birds that are many times their size.... I've watched them even take on Turkey Vultures........ snakes, you name it, if it's too close to their area they will chase it.
