  1. An outstanding model. I've always liked the look of the base spec cars with small hubcaps and without too much chrome on them so this really appeals to me. The restrained road grime weathering is the icing on the cake. Great stuff, well done.
  2. There is some real clean quality work there Ray. The black 32 is a shiny standout and full points for the RHD conversion on the 'Stang. Feel free to add more pics to this thread, we would love to see more.
  3. Thanks guys , It's good to see some more Aussies on the forum following along with my seemingly neverending little project. This week I got a little more done to the front suspension. I made the brackets for the radius rods and mated them to the chassis. I also made the mounting brackets for the sway bar. The radius rods were glued into position onto the suspension arms and I added a threaded rod and nuts from T2M. The radius rod rubbers were cut from a piece of sprue. I also made some sections to dress up the underside of the front crossmember I made a new sway bar from aluminium rod and added some brackets. I added protech boltheads to the sway bar brackets and T2M bolts to the suspension arms. That's it for now. This week I will start work on the steering linkages. There is still some more small details to go into the area but nothing that's super important yet. Thanks again for all your kind comments. Cheers ShawnS
  4. Hi guys. This is an oldie from my display cabinet. Tamiya issued 2 Jag MkII kits, a road version and a race version. This is the race version with chrome from the road version. I built this several years ago and it represents a car that was raced in Australia in the 1960's It's built basically box stock with some racing stripe decals from my spares box. Thanks for looking Cheers ShawnS
  5. Negative, I don't have any background in designing/manufacturing etc. I'm just a guy with a hobby and lots of ideas in his head. Besides they do it all with computers these days don't they? This model making/building thing is old school.
  6. So much coolness in this model. I love the body work, I love the colour, I love the tail panel grill, I especially love the way you did the tail lights with the print out and the red styrene. I will have to borrow that idea for my Falcon build. I can't wait to see more.
  7. Awesome. Good job. But you forgot the NOT FOR SALE SO DONT ASK sign in the window that so many rusty classics have these days.
  8. Killer model. The stance, the shine, the quality are all top class. I love the photos too. A classy Vette all round.
  9. Great stuff. Some high quality work. Well done Doug.

    AC289

Sweet Cobra. Looks real pretty in what could be a period correct colour. I didn't know about the AC289. Like most I thought that once the 427 died out, that was it for all cobras, I guess you learn something new every day. Well done Chris.
  11. Delicious CJ. The engine bay is fabulous (and the rest of it too). Good work Andy.
  12. Very nice build Jonathan. I like the clean basic look that it has. I might put one of those on my shopping list.
  13. It looks killer so far. Nothing embarrasing about that Bill. If the new one comes out as good as or better than the original, it will be a forum favourite for sure.

    Mercedes W154

    Very very nice.
  15. Lovely. The engine bay is pure perfection. We need some more pics to drool over though.
  16. Another great 50's build. You have a great talent for capturing the clean 50's look. Well done.
  17. It doesn't sit too bad. A little bit of fine tuning and I'll be happier. That's it for now. Thanks again for your continued interest. If there is anything you need to know, feel free to ask. Cheers ShawnS
  18. Thanks guys. Thanks it's no probs. I love to read things like that, I try to share the knowledge when I can. It's good to see that others are taking something from this build too. It's time for the most recent update. Last week was all about gettng the thing sitting on it's 4 wheels. The first thing that I did was to cast the wheels and sort out which tyres I wanted to use. The wheels were originally Ford 12 slots but I drilled the slots out and put some evergreen rod to make the rings. The centre hub is scratchbuilt with aftermarket nuts. The tyres come from an old Tamiya 1980's Nissan Leopard TR-X. I then made the upper suspension arms. I took the original Mustang kit part, opened up the centre, carved out the sides to make the wings and added a few evergreen parts for effect. For the lower arms I cut the part from the Mustang kit setup and cut and reshaped it, added new sides and resin cast it as well as the upper arms. The steering knuckles were from AMT's 67 Mercury. I reshaped them and relocated the stubs and removed the thick locating pins and replaced them with bits of rod. I also made some spring cradles. All of the parts ready for assembly and assembled Next post.. On all four wheels...
  19. Very nice work Andy. It's hard to go past a Mustang racer.
  20. Ooh La La. That's pretty darn cool. It'd be the sort of model that someone would be inspired to make a 1:1 version of. Keep Em coming Doc.
  21. Amazing paint job and a very clean build. I can't recall ever seeing anyone build that old Monogram 56 as good as this.
  22. That's some high quality work Bruno. Just the right amount of chrome to compliment the two tone. Nice work.
  23. A very nice clean build Andy, that colour comes up really well on a Camaro. Well done.
  24. Hi guys. Thanks for your patience and interest everyone, it's been a busy month or so for me but I'm getting some build time in every now and then and it's time to show you some of what I've got done. I didn't realise it but I totally forgot the last update from a few weeks ago. We'll start with that. I cut off the terrible front rails that were on the Mustang chassis and replaced them with ones made from evergreen strip. I added an engine crossmember and made a transmission mount. I made the engine mounts. The one on the left goes onto the crossmember and the one on the right goes onto the engine. I also fabricated a front crossmember. The engine and all of it's parts fit like a charm. I'm not sure yet. There seems to be a demand and I'd be silly not to want to make some extra cash and I really would love to see what a variety of builders could do with it but at the moment I haven't made my mind up. Ok that was update 1. stay tuned for update 2 Cheers ShawnS
  25. It's coming Zac. Just gotta find some more time.
