NNL East: Always a good time to be had by all.

NNL East was, as always, a darn good time. There were great builds on display, vendors happy to help you part with hard-earned cash, and of course the model builders themselves are a fine group. And I met Al "Porscheman" Meske in person, who I'm sure to be seeing again. A good day.

Now this will be interesting to follow. I'm in.

Wow! That was quite a conversion job, and you really got it right.

There are some photos of Miss Hurst Golden Shifter, Linda Vaughn, with a '69 H/O ragtop floating around online. I most certainly approve of this project! I gotta get me one of them convertible bodies!

I think it looks great, but the dog sure seems quite angry about it.

Either one is actually worth more than a mint 1:1 Trabant, even one with a full tank.

A friend of mine in high school in the '80s actually owned a '69 four-banger Nova, and I have NEVER seen one since. You could outrun it with a bicycle. As I recall, whatever optional equipment might have been available for a Nova would definitely not have been ordered by someone who wanted cheap (and I mean CHEAP!) wheels like this. Very cool project idea.

I tend to like the more mainstream, plain Jane type of builds. Straight sixes and four-doors were the bread and butter for Detroit in the '60s. Not everybody drove an SS in real life, so your El Camino gets a big "thumbs up" from me.

Just the right amount of mud 'n' junk. Looks real good.

Al, that decal work must have taken you forever, but the results speak for themselves. Looks race-ready!
