  1. 05.04.23 Update: Nearly done, a few detail finishes, a little paint etc..
  2. Fantastic Les! I like you are VW nuts, We've had 5 Beetles in the family, an early 1600 Passat Diesel saloon then a 1900 Passat Diesel estate. We go from time to time to the Sandown Park VW Show in Surrey where we have seen an SP", some years ago. As you can imagine to me, the Beach Buggy looks good! Keep up the good work with your 3D printer! I chap from school ran a Skoda Dealership near us many, many moons ago and had a couple of the 110 rally cars in there! As a rally marshal again donkey's years ago the 110 was a class winner on the RAC Rally for years and years! One thing I bought a few years ago was a 1/24 scale Dub City Diecast VW Notchback. A Very Heavy Diecast!
  3. Thanks guys, when I see something like this in real life I have to try and build one!
  4. Cheers Charles.
  5. Update 31.03.23 the TRAX are on! Now wait 24 hours or so for the glue to set, then measure up some evergreen card to make front uprights and ski's.
  6. As I have this kit on the shelf I'm looking at copying this,, Just painted the TRAX..
  7. It looks superb! My sort of kit, covered in decals!
  8. Having seen a Smart Car on TRAX on the web, I'm part way through my own build, using further 3D TRAX,
  9. Cheers Trevor.
  10. Thanks Robert.
  11. Thanks guys for your positive comments.
  12. I bought The TRAX through Shapeways, who are a marketplace for 3D Printers.
  13. Well thanks guys. I'm amazed at the reactions! I'm also looking at: A Smart for Two.. And a snowmobile:
  14. From a rescued Manx, fitting rear Trax and scratchbuilt front ski's! My first try with TRAX!
  15. I've fitted these Trax to a Meyers Manx rescue.. Now to design and scratchbuild the front ski's!
  16. Today for my 75th, our youngest son (52) bought me this.. As I already have one and built it in Rothmans style decals, I've ordered some Bastos decals, used in the Belgian Rally Champs at the same period.
  17. Update on Meyers Manx Trax.. I shall detail axle ends on trax units in chrome etc. in final finish.
  18. Hi Anton. It's just polished plastic. In the UK the price of spray cans has gone up and the shipping is the same price of the cans, so doubling the prices. Yes the bodies are very good quality so polishing is popular on this Tamiya model, I think that there are about four or five Scoobies by Tamiya showing slightly different models of the WRC car over a number of years of rallying.
  19. Thanks James. I think I'll try to find a good picture/build of it.
  20. Well, I've got this far with a different rescued Meyers Manx, That might have these on the back.. And Ski's on the front!
  21. Yes! I remember these in the day!
  22. Id love to know what the 'beach buggy' is on the front page in orange, please?
  23. As a pensioner I have bought a few bits from Shapeways and Jimmy Flintstone over the years. 3D machines and all the supplies to go with it and scratchbuilding with resins are just too expensive.
  24. I'll have to try and get the digital one here in the UK!
