  1. So...how much do I get to spend at the FLHS?
  2. We're not worthy! We're not worthy!
  3. I saw it Sat. night at the drive-in. The story was kinda predictable, but I enjoyed it. Julianne Hough, while pleasant to look at, doesn't have the chops for 80's rock and comes across more "High School Musical" than "Rock of Ages". I think Malin Akerman has a much more convincing voice for rock. The biggest surprise was Tom Cruise, who sounded like a rocker. The other male lead, Diego Boneta, has a sound more suited to the aforementioned Disney production. This was the music that brought me, kicking and screaming, into adulthood...and I still have most of those albums. Long live vinyl!!!
  4. 39-40 Ford Sedan.
  5. My avatar is the rear fender of a 63 Mercury S-55 Breezeway, belonging to Raymond K. Rodgers, my step-dad. I have done all the wrench-work on it since 2007, when I moved back to the hometown. I took tne photo.
  6. Really cool...what is the turning radius on the Tarantula2?
  7. World peace...and the Revell 1/12 Shelby. Heck, I printed the product description and a 40% off coupon from the Hobby Lobby website. I put them with the 50 bucks I pay my son for mowing my grass every other week, along with an extra 20. Dang...I might as well buy it for myself, but I keep hoping he'll get the message. Maybe I'll forget his next birthday, or car tag, or insurance payment. (Nah, then I'll have to bail his arse out of jail). Oh well...
  8. I love this kit, and you are doing a great job with it. It will be a focal point on my HO scale layout (once I get all the junk out of my train room.
  9. The AMT 65 Lincoln and 49 Merc both came with old school phone handsets. No payphone, though. But, that could be easily built. I know you say you aren't much for scratch building, but you gotta start somewhere. I have a couple of the phones that came with the Merc. As for the guns, some Evergreen round tubing and maybe some rectangular stock is a good place to start. It'll be cheaper and vastly more self-satisfying to DIY. PM me if you want the phone handset. BTW, aren't you the one who started the "Build a pickup from a car" CBP? You're gonna do a lot more on your Charger than a simple payphone. Also, look at the Post-Apoc and Technicals CBPs to see some amazing scratchbuilt guns.
  10. I have found quite a few decent buys at flea markets, thrift and antique shops, and yard sales. Lately, though, it seems that pickins are getting slimmer. I have family members who are avid "shoppers", and they call me when they find models, trains, GI Joes, RC stuff, etc. When I do go out with the wife, I turn on the hobby radar.
  11. Check out the 1/32 scale Walking Beam Steam Engine from Airfix. This model is sized for a 19th century mill sized operation, so it should be good for 1/24-1/25. There are some G scale pieces, as well.
  12. RM Caprice Taxi or Impala Police kit. Maybe a 58 Belvedere, or a Marauder. One way or another, I'll join this build. I'll decide by the beginning of the next week.
  13. I just picked up a Dodge D-50 pick-up. Can I join your party?
  14. Boot Hill Express...I'm gonna get me another one. The one I have, I built when I was 8. I'm liking the Mini, unless it's a repop of the Tamiya. Gonna pickup the pickups, Dodge and Lightning, and I like the Challenger. One question...where are all the 30's Fords??????????
  15. Difference between summer and winter down here...SNOWBIRDS!!!!!
  16. Vacuformed 1/24 scale???? Who makes one? I want one!!!
  17. The Mauretania was a "sister" to the Aquitania, but is over a hundred feet shorter. Mauretania is also 10' narrower, but that won't show. The real problem is the difference between the two ships' lengths and superstructures. It would take two Mauretania kits, which while are somewhat rare, are availlable. Dave's Drydock on Ebay usually has an Aquitania blueprint available for around $15.
  18. Really nice bumper. BTW, it's Defibrillator. Defibulator would be something that might take out one's legs. Second thought...this truck might just do that.
  19. I live in Mulberry (south of Lakeland - 2 hours out), so I'm too far away to join FAST, but I can probably make the show. Any reason for a road trip...Sounds like a plan.
  20. Triang makes an Aquitania in 1/1200 scale, diecast and plastic. Tiny, though...9" long.
  21. Legally, you can file a fraud complaint with the US Postal Service, if you mailed the item via USPS.
  22. This sounds interesting...would an Escalade EXT qualify? Also, for 1/24-1/25 scale, there are 4 .50 caliber MG's in the Revellogram 1/24 UH-1B kit, and the Airfix/MPC and Trumpeter 1/24 scale prop planes have various MG's and cannons. I have the Airfix Spitfire, and it has 8 .30 caliber MG's (as well as a fairly well-detailed Rolls-Royce Merlin engine...another build...).
  23. But, they were such cool armored race cars. (Better, IMHO, the the buggies in DR2000).
  24. Skip's also had the VW Cabrio. Not a bad kit.
  25. Hey Chuck, that Beetle Bug looks mighty familiar. I got an IH Scout (from Chuck), and a Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari F1 2000 from Dwayne (trade for an MPC Off-Road Van).
