... I hate you. I'm just kidding. But seriously, I hate you. lol. I wanted this prize pack so bad. Awesome that someone on the forums won it though. Congrats.

Super easy. Piece of scrap tree, sanded down to fit in the cup holder, pin vise and a small piece of 32 gauge wrapping wire. Boo yah. Instant thirst management.

I'm not to big on the split front bumper either. I'm trying to think of way to change it up but I'm drawing a blank. Might go to the sketch board for that. Got some work done today.

Porsche Carrera GT:Paul Walker Tribute build
MikeyB08 replied to Tompidom's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I agree completely. Everyone has their own way of commemorating someone they loved, admired, or cared for. Paul Walker was one of those people to a lot of us. I will def. be watching this build and I too will be participating in the Fast & The Furious Community Build. If it's okay, I would like to post my progress if permitted. I will be building the 1970 Chevelle from Fast & Furious when Brian and Dom where racing for a spot on Braga's Team. I will be building Brians Skyline shortly after to set them in a display side by side, as they rightfully should. I won't start building though until after Christmas so it will be a while. Got a lot of research done, but plenty more to do. Still can't believe he's gone. I'm one of those that doesn't say much when an actor/actress passes. But this one really hit a spot I'm not use too. Sorry for my little "let loose" there. lol -
I have always heard of the "easy factor" for this kit. And I always see it on Ebay for SUPER cheap. Other than every darn part being purple, it looks like a really good kit. Minimal flash, clean parts, no serious injection marks. Of course I'm just starting the engine so I'm not really INTO the kit yet. Just scratching the surface.
-
Thanks Larry. Go to try and make this one last until X-Mas day until I get my 1970 Chevelle. Along with a at least 5 other models.

Picked this up from a close family friend that gave it to me. Said he could do nothing with it. So, my mission is to show him what can be done. I've posted quite a few model builds on here and I always felt like I lacked the motivation or execution to build an appreciated model. So, in a sense, this is my redemption. The Prowler will be 2 Toned; Black on Top, Red Bottom. Wheels to be used are from the Revell Ferrari Enzo kit that I had trashed. Now, I despise models that come in color. Lucky for me, the Prowler came in Purple... So I went on ahead and put some primer on it to help with the body work. Here's what I have so far: Mock-Up with Wheels. Ride height is completely off. I will be addressing that once I get to the suspension portion of the build. Body in Primer. Now the Prowler comes with a third brake light on the trunk lid. I've always thought it was... Out of place. So I cut it out and working on filling in the hole now. Got a small start on the chassis. Ignore the bottom of the Prowler Body. Still needs a heap of primer lol

Porsche Carrera GT:Paul Walker Tribute build
MikeyB08 replied to Tompidom's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Disrespectful to me would be building a replica of the crashed car. -
I'm thinking I'll build the Primer Chevelle and then build the Red/ Black Striped Chevelle and set them side by side.
-
Yup. As long as it was in one of the F&F movies, it's fair game. At least from what I understood.

Throw me in for this. Building: Dom's 1970 Chevelle 454SS; Fast & Furious Example:

Okay. Thanks.

Porsche Carrera GT:Paul Walker Tribute build

I find it so hard to believe he's gone. Paul was one of the few actors that I enjoyed watching. So sad... -
Thanks Bill. Safe to assume that the next Cannonball will be posted after the first of the year?
-
I have to ask and given I feel dumb asking it. But what makes a Cannonball car, a Cannonball car? Is there a guideline you have to follow or something?

Revell Jeep Wrangler
MikeyB08 replied to MikeyB08's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Yea... Needs some tweaking. May consider building a new one. Work picked up so it's moving really slow at the moment. -
So this will be my second build of the Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I love this kit and see many more coming into play. I hope to have more pictures up tomorrow. Today was very slow, but yet productive day. I've always been a fan of the Roll Cage Doors. To me, they just add that extra style and attitude to Jeep's. So that was my first To-Do on the list. This was my first time cutting out doors on a model that wasn't junk. Needs a little more work, but I'm happy with the turnout thus far. I'm not sure if I will be hinging the door as there is no room on the interior tub to add a hinge without in interfering with the dash board. I will be looking at it some more tomorrow and doing some more thinking. Will hopefully have a bigger update tomorrow since the most tedious part to me is over.

Very nice!! Lincoln Contientals are my favorite family vehicles. I personally drive a 2002 Lincoln Contiental CE and I wouldn't trade it for the world. The color is spot on and the shine is great! Very nice work!

Thanks Chris. Really appreciate it.

Never thought of a silver pen. And the black signals where not intentional lol

I've tried using a sharpie before for the trim and always have a problem with streaking or you can see the start and stop of the ink. Any ideas to combat that?
-
Nope. Was thinking of working on the charger some more but I'll leave it be. One of the better models I've built so as long as I'm happy, all is good. Only came with one mirror so I left it off. One mirror always looked weird to me.
-
Oh yea. Forgot to mention that. Driver side door handle snapped on me when I was cutting in from the tree and wipers snapped in the middle "Arm" joints. Happens to me all to often. I've been wanting to try BMF but I always get intimidated.

Here's my build. Not up to par with some but I like it. Enjoy!
