  1. So this is my thread for my Duo Ferrari Build. The two cars will be alike in a sense. The Enzo will be the Track Car, fitted with a side number and some small sponsor decals. Nothing to drastic. The 360 Modena (which from what I have heard is a bad build) will be the Road Car. Just your simple, "Let's cruise the boardwalk..." vehicle. They will be used in my upcoming Diorama I'm currently planning. Paint- Enzo- Flat Black w/ Satin White Modena- Satin White w/ Flat Black accents. Please remember that any/all comments are welcome. First Up: Revell Ferrari Enzo- I'm working on dulling down the interior components of the Enzo as suggested by a fellow modeler. Next Up: Revell Ferrari 360 Modena Spider- Pair Together (Complete w/ Pizza and a Bud Light )-
  2. I, for one, have a 2002 Lincoln Continental CE for my daily driver. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Personally, it has style, power, and extreme comfort. Sure, mostly older people drive Lincoln's (I'm 24) but I like to think of it as, "Classy". And I agree that if you are embarrassed by what you drive then that means that other people's thoughts are higher than yours. I could care less...... Unless of course I'm in this monstrosity. *Note: This is a real creation. The owner posted it on Craigslist for $3000- FIRM!
  3. Never more than $20 for a kit. The only kit I have spent more than $20 on was for an Aoshima Nissan R35... Which was a regretted the buy for many reasons. The kit was curbside therefore lacking the motor. It did have working suspension but was useless. Not to mention, to my own fault, crazed the body really bad and ultimately chopped the entire build. Do I see myself spending more at some point? -Of course. I enjoy the hobby and it's "My World".
  4. Very nice! Thanks for the walk through!
  5. Flaws?? What flaws?? Just Beauty!! Wheels look great and the color combo is spot on. Great Job!
  6. Okay... So I reworked the motor. Roughly scratch built a distributor. Fire Away!!!!
  7. Yea I've been doing some in depth research and I going to leave that engine alone. Be getting a 1959 Caddy so that will be my next attempt at plugs.
  8. Amazing build!! And Donn- Hope you don't mind but I'm going to post the small review you did for the kit on my Model Car Kit Review page on Facebook along with some of your photo's. All credit, of course, will be in your name.
  9. Ok good... This is a "junk" motor that I will probably tear down, weather up, and use it for my upcoming Diorama build. Just thought I would experiment a little bit. Thanks for all the tips guys. Next engine I will be trying this one is a Ferrari Enzo. Given I know that the wiring it completely different but I've got an extra Enzo motor so it will work as another text subject.
  10. I think it looks great. Nice, clean and the dash looks amazing. Great Work!
  11. PB here... Also have multiple accounts. Never tried any other ones.
  12. So I've just completed my first Spark Plug detail on a motor that came out of a Ford F150 Super Duty. I'm sure the firing order and such is off. I'll be honest and say that I really rushed the process and know I could have done better. That being said, I'm looking for some tips on how to get good natural bends at the distributor as well as going into the heads. I also think that the bit I used was a tad bit too big. I need to order me a set. Information about the wire: Red 30AWG Wrapping Wire
  13. Thats so awesome!!
  14. You're just full of tips Ed. lol.. Thanks for the heads up. Never crossed my mind to use preformed plastic.
  15. I like the Cowl decal. It's simple but poses a threat to anyone that tries to run with it. Paint looks great.
  16. Well I was thinking the plexi-glass would be for the windows. But I think I'll just order some clear Styrene since it's easier to cut and I know I can work with it easily.
  17. Bummer... Only guess I had for an engine was "Hopes And Dreams". Looks great thus far. 377 looks awesome! Looking forward to seeing more.
  18. lol Will do Ed. I imagine that even though I have plans laid out, I'm sure I will change quite a bit once construction begins. I'm already thinking of a joined Showroom as well as a Parts Store. I'll keep the options open. At the moment, I'm limited on actual space so my current design is able to fit in my display case, therefore I'm limited to exactly how big I can go.
  19. My first thought, "Man that Camaro looks so natural upside down." Interesting is an understatement.
  20. So I've been looking at some of the diorama builds around here and I'm intrigued. That has lead me to this point. I am designing my own Garage Diorama. Here's some more information about my build: Diorama 2 Bay Garage Measurements (1/25 Scale): 20'in Long, 13'in Deep, 10in' Tall. Measurements of actual garage: 40' Ft Long, 26' Ft Deep, 20' Ft Tall Doorway (1/25 Scale): Semi Bay 6.5'in Tall, 5'in Wide; Car/Truck- 5'in Tall, 5'in Wide Doorway (Actual): Semi Bay- 13' Ft Tall, 10' Ft Wide; Car/Truck Bay- 10' Ft Wide, 10' Ft Tall Exterior Doorway: 7' Ft Tall, 3' Ft Wide Will include: 1 Car Lift, Workbenches, Optional Floor Inlays, Upper "Man Cave" Floor, Parts Room, Etc. For the Garage Bay, the large bay door will be meant for my Peterbilt 359 Conventional. The other bay door will be meant for my hot rods and such. I'm also thinking about building a lean tue out back for the junker. The upper floor will be the "Man Cave". Here is where the poker games, video games, football watching, etc. will all take place. I believe this may be my big attempt at scratch building furniture and such. Personally, I'm looking forward to this. From what I understand, people are always adding to their Dio's and that's what I'm planning for this one. A very long continuous build. So without further ado, here's my Google SketchUp templates for my design. I hope to have some materials by Thursday or Friday. Front Garage Back Garage View of Man Cave Floor/ Layout
  21. I usually build my model first. Then find a 1:1 of the car I just built and think, "DANG IT!!! Why didn't I look for an inspiration first?!?!" I'm kidding... I'll do a little bit of research, but mostly I just build to build with no rhyme or reason. Sometimes I have an inspiration for a build (like the one I have coming up) but not very often.
  22. Awesome. Thanks guys. Carl that's close to what I'm looking for minus the office and such. I figured my dimensions to be 20'in Long, 13'in Deep, 10in' Tall. I will hopefully start designing my layout on paper with in the next few hours. Always like to have a gameplan to act as reference material. As for walls what material do you guys recommend? I've seen Foam Board used and it looks good. Easy to cut and work with and cheap. Being my first Dio, not looking to invest a great deal of money until I'm confident I can build one I'm happy with. Also thanks for the tape tip... I'm sure that will be handy.
  23. I would be scared to see what your dreams consist of. Your builds are so of the charts it's unreal!! Love them!! Keep it up Ira!!
  24. Well then here is my layout. I would like a permanent shop. It will be set up at my home as well as any shows when I get to attend them. I'm looking at a 2 Car Garage with an lean tue outback for my "Junker". I would like a brick exterior. It will not have a roof, at least not for a while. I know I also have to accommodate room for my "Workshop Tools" that I would like to have in the garage (cabinet, desk, drill press, lathes, fridge, etc.). This is a whole new area for me as I'm looking for this to be something that I work on for more than a year. Whenever I see one I am amazed at how much continued work can be done. I would also like to add a "Man Cave" upper attic. P.S.- I didn't mean to say posterboard. I was thinking along the lines of Foam Board. It was late and I should never talk past 10 pm.
