  1. My Harbor Freight is about 45 Min. from where I live. When I go, I try my best to make sure I have an Ad so I know what I'm going for and I know I'm spending over $50 to make it worth my time. But I love Harbor Freight.
  2. Yea... I'm not a big fan of Wal-Mart but nonetheless, it should hopefully spark some teens/ kids mind to pick them up. Not to mention... My local Wal-Mart carries the same models that I can find at Michaels. Between the two, I'm going to Michaels because their customer service is better and we all know about the 40% off Coupon.
  3. My pull for the day. Made a little visit to my local Harbor Freight. Couldn't pass up the $40 3 Gal. Oilless Air Compressor with 100 PSI. Also picked up this cheap rotary tool with 80 pieces for $8 and 3 tubes of Super Glue for $1. Be my first time trying an airbrush so I figured I would stay on the low budget end of things for now.
  4. Curbside... Needs a VR38DETT under the hood.
  5. Looks awesome! And the paint you used is the Tamiya British Green? Reason I asked is because this looks like the perfect green for my current build.
  6. Awesome. Thanks Peter. I've been checking the fit on literally every single piece. Mostly so I know there are no complications when I get to finishing the build. Thus far the kit is coming together nicely. I'm so use to building Revell models that I'm shocked at how well this kit is going together. I haven't start gluing any parts but some minor painting has been started on the interior. First thing I focused on was the racing seats. One of my biggest peeves is when the seat belt holes in the back of the seat is filled in. So I went on ahead and cut out/ trimmed the seat belt area so I can put some racing harnesses in. I plan on doing a short How To for removing the filled in area of the seat belt holes. Found some pretty nasty mold marks on the back of seats. Left (Before)/ Right (After) And the interior Mockup: - I will hopefully be picking up my air compressor tomorrow evening so the build may be put on a brief hold so I can practice airbrushing. I've airbrushed a little bit in my art class in high school but my teachers setup was horrible. Thanks again for following the build. Personally, I am excited for it.
  7. Thanks fellas. So as far as painting the chassis I've had a rough start. I spilt my silver paint so now I have to order some more. So interior will be my starting point. Upon further inspection, this kit has more than I expected. It also includes the following: Stock seats, low rise spoiler, and stock steering wheel. Which means this kit can be built as a drifter or your everyday Silvia.
  8. Got a picture of the front chassis. I belive the steering is functional. Ill be starting on the chassis first thing very soon. Also got a mock up of the body with the wheels. I have to be honest... I'm really considering making a street tuner. But the decals are so awesome. Anyways, as I fight myself, here's the pictures.
  9. That grill looks awesome!! Heck that helped me out. Excited to see how this plays out.
  10. So my 2 Ferrari builds are put on a serious back burner due to some paint issues. So I moved on and ordered this kit from Amazon. Received it yesterday and I have to admit, I'm very excited/ nervous for this build. It is curbside so it does lack an engine, but the decals alone is enough to surpass the loss of an engine. The kit is from Aoshima. The 1999 Nissan S15 Silvia was driven by Yasuyuki Kazama, the 2005 Drift Champion. First thing I did was viewed the instructions. Has real spring (working ) suspension and comes with the option of choosing your own hood. You can go with the stock OEM hood or an aftermarket vented hood. The kit came with gold plated wheels and PE front bumper spoilers. While inspecting the parts, I couldn't help but notice just how clean the parts look. Clean crisp lines with decent detail. Under the chassis will need some attention so I'm thinking about scratching my own exhaust as I feel the one with the kit seems a little weak and undersized. This will be a Box-Stock build. However, it never hurts to try something new. So I believe this will be the first model I try airbrushing on... Don't worry, I plan on practicing A LOT before I commit to painting the body. You can tell on the Box-Art that the main green on the car (Daytona Green) is just a shade darker than the decals. I plan on going with a lighter green so the decals really have a chance to POP! The kit contains 109 decals. Majority of them are small other than the large side/ hood design decals. I'm nervous of this kit because I've never worked with this many decals. I've always wanted to attempt a large Decal based build and at $16, I figured this was the kit to take that chance with. My last resort should my decal attempt fail, it will become a stanced S15. At that point I may consider adding an Skyline motor complete turbo detail and intercoolers. But we shall cross that bridge when I get there. I think I've said enough. Hopefully this build will come out better than my past 3 builds have started. I'll be doing some package unpacking tomorrow and a mock up for my own personal motivation.
  11. Very cool indeed. Love the huge mouths on the hardtop. Looking good.
  12. Very cool!
  13. I think it looks great. Has an awesome stance and to me a very low profile street killer. If you're happy with your build, that is all the matters. Great job! You should be proud!
  14. This is just too cool... Great work once again!
  15. So my storage case that my Pin Vise drill bits busted today. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can use to store my drill bits while still keeping them separated? The bits are fine, I just need a case/idea for a case.
  16. So a group on Facebook (The Scale Model Club) posted this picture. Very creative and might spark a few odd ideas.
  17. Good stuff... You know what they say, "Life's a garden... DIG IT!!"
  18. Interesting nonetheless... Might have to give this a try. Thanks.
  19. Picked this up a yard sale today for $4. I'm usually not a Diecast guy but I had a lot of these when I was younger and gave them all to the Goodwill when I moved out. I've been wanting them back ever since. So this is the first one I've acquired in 6 years,
  20. Paint is killer!!! Looks great! Did you use Pegasus Wheels?
  21. lol... Good Eye Jason. The Vent Troll ended up getting on of my Ford Valve Covers when I was trying to patch my first bad wire job. I've just about let this motor go. As far as the texture of the motor goes, I know it's not accurate (not like anything on the motor really is), but I haven't purchased an air compressor yet so I solely rely on Spray Cans. Right now, I have 2 Ferrari's on the bench so my wiring has been put on hold. I did, however, order me a new set of Pin Vise Bit's so now I can actually drill the proper hole for fitment. I can't thank you guys enough for the help.
  22. Personally... I've used Clorox Bleach on a lot of chrome parts and I can literally watch it strip the chrome off. I haven't tried anything else.
  23. I'm not much of a yard sale guy. In my area, all I ever see is clothes and baby toys. But today... I was suppose to be at this yard sale as I've been looking for this particular diecast for years. Product- FunLine Muscle Tuner Nissan Skyline GT-R34 Price- $4
  24. UPDATE So here's an update on the Revell Ferrari 360 Modena Spider...
  25. Thus far its went together smoothly. Ive used very little glue. Ill be posting some updates on it later this evening.
