99 Silverados
MikeyB08 replied to Pullin Gears's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I agree. Looking really good. I need to ask of a favor if permitted. I'll be working on a 99 Silverado very soon that I flame on lowering. If possible, I would like to see how you did your frame work so I go about this the right way. -
So I'm really wanting to Z a frame. The stance to me is awesome. I have attempted it once only to hit a brick wall. That's the reason why I'm here. For the frame I Z'd, I had a complication with the engine not setting right so the interior floor would still sit correctly. How do I get around this? I'm still really new to scratch building, so building a new interior floor would be difficult. I've considered cutting out a trans section from another kit, but I hate to do that for the sole purpose of either waiting for a replacement part or messing up both interior floors. My best thought (thus far) is to build a lower section near the motor mounts for the engine and lower them down. Any other ideas?

For Sale signs came in a kit. I'm sure I can scale some down and send you the file in an email and you can print them off. -

No. LVL 2. Honestly, should be considered a snap. Goes together with hardly any glue lol -
Finished this one earlier today. Will be putting some simple decals on and finishing up with Future & Polish. For now, here's the Pre-Finished look. Couldn't wait to share lol

Peterbilt 359
MikeyB08 replied to MikeyB08's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
So, I ended up on a massive "Finish" kick and get this one done. Still considering the fender creation, but that will be another time. -
So my next project will be a 2009 Dodge Challenger. The wheels I'm wanting to use are super wide (as you can tell) and I don't want to order a Drag Tub or cut into my frame for the sake of saving suspension detail. So this leads me to my question. I'm looking for something along the lines of what Dom drove in Fast 6. Now, I'm wanting the wheels to have a tucked effect but I'm unclear of how to build up the rear quarter panels for the Wide-Body effect while still being able to take some inside fender away to tuck my wheels. Any thoughts, ideas? Some pictures for reference.

Got a little more work done. Need some serious TLC on the paint. Also thinking of making my own rear fenders. Here's the temp I'm thinking of using. -

Got the motor done other than a slight black wash. -

Super Small Update: I felt that the stacks included in the kit lacked the "wow" factor. When I think of Rigs, I think of some serious sound. So, I added my own touch. The stacks themselves are actually Cheapo Bic white tube/ blue tip pens you can pick up at Walmart for $0.97 and comes with 15. Still working on it of course but thoughts, opinions, comments, concerns, questions and anything else you want to throw my way, feel free. -

Thanks fellas. I'm trying not to be too detail oriented. I don't participate in shows or anything. It more for my own enjoyment and pushing my personal envelope past my comfort zone. -

2012 Mach7 Motorsports Falcon F7 (hands down my favorite car; made in the great U.S.A too) 2014 Ford SVT F-150 Raptor (with lifted option) 2013 Dodge Dart GT 2012 Dodge Ram SRT-10 1977 AMC Pacer -
This will be my 2nd Peterbilt 359 by Revell. I love this kit. Definitely one of my top kits to put together. I'm going for a loose custom Peterbilt. Nothing crazy but something you would expect your average truck driver to get done. Help make the ride on the road a little more enjoyable. Here's what I have so far: -Sanded off the trim lines on the hood. I'm considering sanded off the light/horn section on top of the cab.- -Also sanded away the panel lines.- -Cut out the grill insert to install a screen with braces behind the screen.- -Rear suspension is set-up.- -Grill stripped of chrome using bleach.- -Screen mock-up. Still need to add filler and smooth out some scratch lines (obviously lol).- To Be Continued...

This is awesome!! Sweet build! How did you shrink the box down?
-
Thanks. Been a slower than usual build. But I can see the time spent. Paint actually came out better than I expected.
-
Got some paint laid down this morning.
-
This is my only model that I actually took the time to set up a make-shift photo area.
-
This is awesome!!! Great attention to detail. Can I ask where you got the Ultra-Fine Copper Wire from? I think I have some and never thought of using it but would still like to know for sure.

Killer man... An awesome creation!

Got a small update. Originally the Enzo wheels wouldn't fit on the axles. So I had to improvise. This lead to me cutting the center stocks from the original Prowler wheel backings which fit in the back of the Enzo wheels snugly. Mock-Up with the wheels on the prowler.
