  7. Looks like you got a great start!! look forward to more wip pics!!
  8. I am just about to run out of the Devcon 5 minute stuff I'm using, and I'm wondering if there is anything better. the reason I ask is twofold. 1. this stuff STINKS!!!! 2. the tubes are messy to use.. are all hobby epoxies smelly?? anything easier to use. I see tubes that look like ketchup bottles in my LHS, but not sure what the stuff is.
  9. check the resin section of the board, someone posted there that they were producing one in resin..
  10. thanks Billy. actually, these last 3 NASCAR builds( the mikey pennzoil ponitac, allison miller buick and this one) are the best i have ever done. guess you do get better with age!!

  17. Blueman Mark, could to go thru the procedure you used to use future as sealer/barrier for red/yellow plastics??
  18. went to 2 different LHS today and got the following: Fujimi 1980 Camaro Z28 kit ( will post review later) ELO paint brushes Testors Aluminum plate ( now I can finish my NASCAR Pontiac) 2 cans Tamiya white primer Tamiya german grey Tamiya clear Tamiya silver leaf Tamiya gunship grey and testors blue angel blue for a future mark martin nascar build. god i hope my wife doesnt check my bank history!!!
  19. Well, I have 2 different rolls of the tamiya masking tape, guess i'm off to a good start. I plan to give a try real soon..
  20. bright, vibrant color, but otherwise very clean and simple, almost understated. see the S13 in this thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9996
  21. heres my leap into the world of Tuners: I have about 20 various tuner kits to eventuallt build, i figured since I had to order paint for my NASCAR build, I should start on one, and I chose this. I always liked these cars. plan is to attempt to get it to sit as low as it does in the pics. rear is already done(thanks to multiple holes for the metal axle), front will take some work. I also thought about some different wheels, but the way the fronts on this kit mount ( wheel mounts to strut using metal screw), I'm using the kit wheels, and besides, I actually like watanabe's. plan calls for tamiya pearl orange, with grey interior with orange accents. roof needed work as it appears that kit had t-tops at one point, then the tool was modified, leaving a trough in the roof.
  22. my two completed red builds. really not a big fan of red. both of these are when i first started experimenting with duplicolor about 5 years ago, they were based only, they really needed to be cleared.
  23. I actually try to turn the tv off and the radio on when i build. I've found that its easier to concentrate on the model whens the tv's off. I've been listening alot lately to yahoo streaming radio, i can customize the playlist to play only stuff i like, which varies from Tool, to Metallica, to Pantera, to Steve miller and the Who, to Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks and Johnny Cash.
  24. I signed up for photobucket about a month ago. its been free for me so far, and works pretty good too. I havent seen anything about a 9.90 a month charge, maybe thats to get you to upgrade to the "pro" edition??
  25. My wife is always complaining, as i'm sure everyone else's is, when i buy a new kit, that i should build the ones I have first. yet, last night she complains that I havent spent enough time with her( because i'm on a streak where I have gotten about 2.75 completed since jan 1st), because i am " always building those ###### models"!!!!!! women!!! sheesh!! or as a friend of mine is known for saying, " women, you cant kill 'em, and they dont fit in an oven!!"
