thanks for the heads up, my kids would like that. is there a website that might which stores are doing it?? -
Ford ran these bricks in '81 and '82, not sure what year this car represents. and sunlight is supposed to take th yellow out of the decals. I left in my window for over a month hoping that was the case. I think the problem is that you need direct sunlight, and I dont have direct sunlight on any of my windows.

thats looking GOOD!!! there is very little thats sexier than a B/M car with the stinger hood!!!!

used kit decals with this one. left them taped to a window for over a month, and there were still yellowed. so i built it anyways. I built this kit because I had never before built a "Ford" style chassis, so I wanted to get familiar with one. They are not quite as easy to build as the "GM" chassis' are... I couldnt get the front of the chassis to sit flush at all. It appears there is a fit issue between the dash and windshield that I didnt know about until final assembly. plus assembling the front cage around the engine pushed the front of the chassis down, raising the front ride height even more. Oh Well, I know for next time.. I used resin "5-hole" wheels from Danny Tarpley, and I have never worked with resin before, so that was a first. They were extremely easy to use. Thanks DannyT!!! Tamiya Pure white and clear, powerslide tire decals.

a couple items to address when you build it to get a good factory stock build. 1. front and rear window trim is semi gloss black 2. door handles are chrome, with body color in center recess of handle 3. headlamp bezels, turn signal bezels and grilles all semi gloss black 4. there is a body line on the lower sides of the fender/door and quarters. car should be flat black below this line no matter what color its painted. 5. there should be no seam in the front spoiler where the bumper joins. 5. the turbine wheels in the movie pic are stock wheels. center between spokes are painted stripe color. I have owned 4 1:1 '79 Z28's. -
Robert, great job, looks good!!! How much did you chop the top?? and I would be really interested to see how you make the windows. Thats always been the biggest thing keeping me from chopping a top.

How old are you??

a couple of my favorites are the lawn darts where they launch old clunkers into a rock quarry usuing a huge air gun, trying for a bullseye with a camper in the middle, and all the ways they tried to kill that red diesel toyota truck, thats is classic, and it still runs!!!!!!!!! -

hopefully they are allowed to have as much fun with the show as their UK counterparts do... and i wish i could find the uk show on tv here in the states, it used to be on discovery... -
I have 1 chassis shot, I forgot to take interior pics again, but it turned out pretty good. Michael, if you need roll cage padding for any of your nascar builds, definitely get the pro-tech stuff if you can. its nice and actually fits good. its like $3.25 and will build 2 cars depending on how much you use.

he raced this car in 8 races in 1988. It sometimes had Bud Light as main sponsor. used older ocean graphics decals coated in testors 9200, with powerslide tire decals. tamiya pure white and bright red with tamiya clear. pro-tech roll bar padding ( great stuff!!!) my first attempt at a two-tone, and I'd grade it a C, it definitely could have been better.

looking great Michael!!! i like the looks of the diode for the fuel filter, I may just have to try that.

What are your favorite car songs?
LVZ2881 replied to Darrell Gwinn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
great minds think alike Rick, I think you and I are the only ones to mention that song.. I first heard about it in the early 90's on one of that HOT ROD magazine labeled cd's.. -

My wife works swing several times a week, and every other week my kids are at their mom's, so... best time for me is the nights when kids are gone and wifey's at work. then i'll turn on my pre-programmed yahoo music station, on my laptop, which is usually right in front of me when im building, that way i can browse the various modeling forums, listen to some tunes, and build away..... I find it works really well at tuning out the world....

I use Duplicolor white primer. it seems to cover better than Tamiya white. I usually find mine @ pep-boys, as it can be hard to find...
