Scale, i like to build models as close to, as i can, But one, NONE of the bodys are to scale, cause the thickness is off, if the bodys were 16ga sheet metal, they would be about .010 thousand thick, and 16ga wire would be about a hair, so to me its all up to what makes you happy, So what really is scale?? We could go on and on about scale,, Its a plastic model and you build it as close to, and as nice as, and half will love it, and half will not... Be cool, be happy, and get back to building.

Does anyone make the Aurora 1935 gilmore special in resin, or cars of that era. looked though this form, but didn't see any. Looking for the Old indy racers, and midgets. The Aurora models that i have come across, have a Un-godly price tag... Thank You

1/24th-1/25th scale, why is it a big deal
rel14 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree BECAUSE, i do 1/24 cause most stuff can be moved, changed, redone, and its to scale, like if i want to put a big block in a 32 coupe, its to scale, and a lot to pick from,, 1/12 i can get more detail, but harder to find the parts ya want. Ho, and 1/32 is to small for my old eyes to see anymore.. -
Where did you build when you were a kid
rel14 replied to eizzle's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
in my bedroom, on a cheap table i found in the trash,, run outside spray paint the body tell paint was dripping off it,, and back to my room to finish my finger printed glue bomb that i was so Proud of, cause i built it myself,,,,I've gotten a little better at it over the last fifty years......... -
We have 7 kids, all grow up and gone, and next month will be 16 grandkids, and what bothers me the most, is i don't know were all that time went,, Feel like i missed 20-30 yrs there some how.. Its like the older i get, the fast time goes by... So, enjoy each and every second you can, the grandkids get older and forget who you are. The kids stop calling cause they have there own life. And i sit here building models, and talking to my Dogs,,

No Dodge in Nascar next year
rel14 replied to jjsipes's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use to be a die hard nascar fan from way back,,but since nascar went COT, and there is no such thing as ford, chevy, dodge. toyota anymore, I just lost interest in it,, its a real shame they cann't go back to what Nascar was.. I look at it as one more decal missing from the sport,,,, RIP Mopar, How about Nissau, VW, Saab, ? Jagaur won once in the 50's, maybe we can get them back? -
if it doesn't have buttons, or a video screen, forget it,,,

Detroit Diesel 8V-71s and 8V-92s
rel14 replied to cavejohnson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Use to work on them in the Army,,everything had detroits in them..If you didn;t adjust the injector rack prefect, you would crank it up, and they work run away on ya,, and a 8V-92 could screeeem,, so you throw the big thick manual book over the intake,, to kill it,, you ever see a book get sucked in and blowed out the exhaust,,it make a mess of a engine,,, Lucky uncle sam had spares..LOL
