  1. Bring it. The sooner the better.
  2. Automotive V8 cooling systems typically use the pump to draw cooler water from the bottom of the radiator, push it through the block from the front, where it then finds its way through the heads, and returns to the radiator through the thermostat and top hose. Straightliner59's hose routing appears to be correct for this kit pump, though it may be difficult to understand fully by someone not well-versed in engine cooling. The large lower connection of the kit crank-driven pump would go to the lower radiator. The two smaller connections are output, and would go to either side of the block where a stock water pump would normally bolt on. Return hoses from the head faces, possibly connected to fittings installed at freeze-plug locations, are hot water and would go to the top of the radiator.
  3. Look again. The water pump in question here is specifically intended for the optional Chrysler Hemi supercharged engine, and has absolutely no relation to the Studebaker powerplant.
  4. Suckers fall for fast talk, sleight of hand, and baloney piled high because they don't think, whether due to intellectual laziness or inability.
  5. People don't generally like to speak out about what they really think, if they think at all.
  6. Repeated is kinda like rebleated, but not as mindless.
  7. Attended gas pumps are pretty much ancient history.
  8. Lead off with a superb lead sled build, and you may find you've taken the lead in establishing renewed interest in period kustoms...especially among those who are easily led.
  9. Looks remarkably good, but with some better wheels and a few other tweaks, it could be beautiful. Nice score...and I think I'll be having one. Thanks for the heads-up.
  10. I'll have to look into that. The pictures on the packages look great. Thanks. I can cook most of the Indian I really like (though I haven't yet attempted paneer, a kind of homemade chunk cottage cheese), either from scratch or using commercially available sauces. There's enough of an Indian community where I am so the major stores stock at least a few, and they're pretty good if you're in a hurry, but usually need punching up in the seasonings, as they're kinda dumbed down for American tastes. My local Publix also stocks naan bread, basmati rice, several chutneys and Indian pickles, and all the spices...which helps. Seems I recall seeing the Trader Joe's brand, and figgered they'd be toned down too. I'll definitely give 'em a try.
  11. Y'all be makin' me hungry. Haven't tried it yet, but there's a new Indian restaurant a couple blocks from home. Probably try it this week. Vindaloo, baby. Oh yeah.
  12. Dressage was one of my first serious girlfriend's fields of accomplishment.

  14. World War Two came to America on this day in 1941, and it's a good reminder to pay attention to global events.
  15. There are literally hundreds of designs, many of them entirely throttleable.
  16. Problem solved: micro butane torch
  17. Kits are mostly a lot of bodged messes waiting to happen.
  18. Or as some of my cohorts used to say "(blank) 'em all, let God sort 'em out".
  19. Happiness can be found, in part, by being thankful for simple things like the feel of a hot shower at the end of a hard day, or the colors in a sunrise.
  20. Looks great. Clean clean clean. And a much better job of fitting the hood to the cowl and radiator shell than most builders seem to be able to manage; looks perfect, actually.
  21. Seam sealer is often left off during collision repairs by lazy...or just stoopid...shop personnel.
  22. "Over and out" gets a whole new meaning.
  23. Forever is almost as long as two more years are going to seem.
