  1. Clock slime is good to lube the hair on your tongue after licking furries.
  2. Going out to get the groceries, I heard the hoot-owl who seems to come around every spring and fall.
  3. Skipped both breakfast and lunch today, running on lard.
  4. "See Spot turn green as he moulders in the grave" said the Dracula Valley Elementary School reading primer.
  5. "Lives with spiders up her nose" is what they used to say about my old aunty Grimm.
  6. "Blow The Man Down" is an old sea shanty.
  7. "Re-railed" is what ultimately happened to some of those tank cars that went astray in Palestine, Ohio some time back.
  8. Rambling in a vintage Rambler that has fold-down seats might be an interesting way to spend part of retirement, and a sure way to get noticed by law enforcement wherever you stopped to get 40 winks. Postie be hanged, I quit.
  9. Having spent a large part of my professional life designing and engineering and fabricating stuff that was not only functional, but also easily serviceable, I just don't get it. Good thing I'll be dead soon, eh? EDIT: The guy in the vid demonstrates that the bulbs can be accessed in literally seconds by going through the fender liners, so 'splain to me why the factory "service data" doesn't reflect that? Intentional ripoff of the owner by the factory department that prepared the data (to justify insanely inflated dealer labor prices), or just total incompetence? It's one or the other.
  10. And dang it, they're always in the last place you look.
  11. Light rain tonight, temps in the low 60s (F). Forecast severe t-storms tomorrow with high winds. Wouldn't be a worry if half my roof wasn't tarped now, and lotsa dead trees on the property. Fingers crossed this won't happen...
  12. Perseverance means trying harder (OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!) if things don't turn out perfectly with zero effort.
  13. Same old same old stuff that irks me daily, cleaning up messes made by people who go through life blithely ruining everything they touch, with zero remorse or accountability.
  14. July, you're a woman, more than anyone I've ever known.
  15. Nize indeed. I'd rather save a sad old model than build a new one.
  16. Way to go, Superflyboy.
  17. Hurt feelings are the stock-in-trade of much of the world now.
  18. "FREE LUNCH only $15.95" said the sign in front of Joe's Home Cookin'
  19. USA too. We've become a "service industry" economy, with very few natives who can build or repair anything whatsoever that requires physical skill...and making a meal and driving a stickshift vehicle are largely lost arts. The saddest thing is that most of the inhabitants are just fine with that.
  20. Also look at Tamiya rattlecan military colors. Though they're flat, you can shoot 'em with gloss clear.
  21. Danbury diecasts are high-quality, and that one is complete with all the packaging. As far as worth goes, think how much work would go into building that nice a model yourself. EDIT: I just looked on eBay, and auction prices start at $20 to $265. Buy-it-now prices range from about $150 to $300 for complete, boxed versions, including shipping.
